Rescue Organizations P.O. Box 664 Apple Valley, CA 92307 Helping Paws was established in 2004. We have rescued and adopted out about 770 pets so far into loving homes. Many of these animals would not have stood a chance in our pounds because when we rescued them they were so deathly afraid of people, which would have deemed them unadoptable. Somewhere along in their lives, someone had been very unkind to them. We feel that to capture them and put them to sleep because they are so afraid is just not acceptable. We don't give up on any dog in need. In most cases they come around within a few days although some may take a few weeks, but how ever long it takes, we will convince them that we are their friends. We are a no kill pet rescue and adoption group. Pets that are too timid to be adopted are worked with until they are adoptable or they will stay with us where they feel secure for the rest of their lives. Helping Paws is located in Lucerne Valley, Ca (The high desert) but does not have an open to the public facility yet. Many pets are in foster care. However more foster care homes are always needed. If you are interested in one of the cuddly k-9's or frisky felines please feel free to call (760)694-7192 or (760)694-7187 any time and set up a visiting appointment or visit us at one of the adoption events (See website).

PAL was formed in October 1993 by a small group of people who were concerned about the well being of the unwanted animals of the Victor Valley. On February 4, 1994 the State of California and the Federal Government granted PAL their non-profit status.
PAL's immediate goal is to help the community with current programs like The Pet Connection, Community Education, Cruelty Investigations, and Adoptions. PAL's long term goals are to establish a complete Humane Education Program and a spay/neuter assistance program.
The Pet Connection Program started with Meals on Wheels in February of 2002. Bags of pet food, cat litter and treats were sent to Meals on Wheels twice a month for their volunteers and staff to deliver to the seniors they served hot meals to.
PAL is in thier fourth year of being a United Way Agency and the money received each month goes towards their spay/neuter fund for low-income people under 65 years of age.
PAL has a lot to offer in way of adoptions, and education, and is a great place to volunteer at.
Cat adoptions are $65 and include:
Spay or neuter, Leukemia/FIV test, 4 in 1 and Leukemia vaccine, Rabies vaccine if old enough, Microchip, Cardboard cat carrier, Free vet visit, One month free pet insurance, Goody bag
Dog adoptions are $85 and include:
Spay or neuter, Rabies vaccine if old enough, Microchip, ID tag, Collar, Slip leash, Free vet visit, One month free pet insurance, Goody bag
All animals are spayed or neutered prior to adoption.
These lovable pets are available for adoption at Victorville PetsMart every Saturday from 10-4, or during the week at the office by appointment only. Companion pet microchipping services are also available. All of the animals are spayed/neutred, vaccinated, and microchipped before being available for adoption. PAL keeps all of the animals in foster homes because they do not have a shelter at their facility. If you would like more information about becoming a foster parents, please contact the Adoption Coordinator.
