“Island Cat Resources and Adoption (ICRA) is an all volunteer non-profit organization dedicated to reducing the suffering of abandoned and feral (wild) cats and to educating and empowering the local community to relieve them from their plight. We provide low-cost spay/neuter, vaccination, and medical treatment to all of our rescued cats, as well as resources for those in the community who are willing and able to assist their local cats in need. We provide foster care for our tame or socialized rescue cats until they can be placed into quality permanent homes through our adoption program. Feral and unsocialized cats are released back to their colonies if they present a safe, managed environment under the watchful eye of a caretaker. We continually strive to educate the local community about the responsible care and treatment of animals. Central to this effort is the promotion of spaying and neutering as the most viable and humane alternative to euthanasia for dealing with a burgeoning cat overpopulation problem. ”
