Approximately 4 million cats end up in shelters every year, including thousands born every spring and summer during kitten season. To help promote adoptions of these smart, funny, affectionate animals, American Humane celebrates Adopt-A-Cat Month each June.
Your local shelter is brimming with cats of every breed, age and personality just waiting for a loving home. Whether you prefer young and frisky or mature and mellow, youre sure to find the perfect cat companion during Adopt-A-Cat Month!
We’ll be featuring adoptable shelter cats on The Cat’s Meow throughout the month of June.
Today’s featured cat is Luna, in the San Francisco Bay Area:
Luna was found wandering a neighborhood last summer and with the family hoping to keep her, they took her to vet for all her shots, tested her for feline leukemia (neg.), and found that she had already been spayed. The vet found her to be very healthy overall, very sweet, intelligent and friendly. We also realized that she was box-trained, not destructive to the home, and a true delight to be around. She is very talkative, and loves to snuggle and be around people.
Unfortunately, the family who found her cannot keep her as Luna is not accepting of their dog and other cat; seems like she really wants to be in a home by herself perhaps she was an only cat in her other life.
Let’s not deny her a new home but rather allow her to be an only kitty as she will be a wonderful companion for someone who does not have other pets in the home.
She’s a beautiful cat with a wonderful personality. Any inquiries about this companion animal will only be answered after completion of an on-line application at www.dustypawsrescue.org You will be contacted by a Dusty Paws Rescue Representative within 24 hours after receipt of your application.
Luna is housebroken.
