"Honey Girl" is one of the many cats currently awaiting adoption at the Humane Society of Naples.

If you live in Southwest Florida, the Humane Society of Naples has two pawsome events coming up.

On January 31st, they'll be hosting their Third Annual "Run for the Paws" 6K Run/Walk. Over 400 humans and 50 dogs competed in the 2008 race. Click here to register, or show up on the 31st to cheer on the entrants.

On February 9th, they'll be hosting their 8th Annual Pet Lovers Ball: Pets Under the Palms.

Enhanced by the beautiful Port Royal beachfront location, this magical evening offers a gourmet dinner, open bar and silent and live auctions with the Honorable Mayor Bill Barnett serving as auctioneer and radio personality Dave Elliott as Master of Ceremonies. The night is capped off with dancing to Stan Spiro and his 16-piece big bank Townsmen Orchestra. Your generous donations benefit the orphaned pets at The Humane Society Naples. And as always, they have plenty of cats (and dogs) ready for a furever home. Click here to check 'em out.
