8 Cat-Themed Items That Give Me the Giggles

A water-skiing-cat wallet? Village People kitties on a mousepad? Shop with me and let's get silly!

I usually write cat humor here on Catster, so it may not surprise you that I'm naturally drawn to funny stuff. Humor is so subjective, however -- what I think is hysterical could be completely unfunny to some others. I'm sometimes reminded of that fact in the comments section, but hey -- not everyone's going to walk on the edge (and occasionally jump off the edge) of absurdity with me.

If you regularly read my posts, you know I think the idea of cats dressed as humans and engaged in "people things" is absolutely side-splitting. I especially love vintage cats, like the ones depicted in the Alfred Mainzer postcards. These thoughts amuse me to no end! Sometimes as I'm perusing the pages of the good ol' W.W.W., I happen upon some pretty funny cat products. Here are eight of my favorites.

1. "Retro Kitty in Fur Coat" print

If I had this print, all I'd ever do is stare at it and smile. Total time suckage, but probably worth it. Source! This print is adorable and completely hilarious! Printed on an upcycled antique dictionary page, this sassy kitty is ready to hit the town! She's cute, but you can totally tell she's kind of a badass. You know, the kind of cat you'd want on your team if somebody was giving you a hard time. She's a whacking-you-over-the-top-of-the-head-with-a-giant-pocketbook badass.

2. "Aliens Gave My Cat a Beard" t-shirt

I want aliens to give my cat a beard. And a monocle. And a little sweater vest. Source

I own this shirt and it makes me laugh every time I see it sitting in my drawer. The lady is completely freaked out, but the cat's all like, "Yeah, I have beard. What of it?" And he's totally rocking that facial hair. Good for you, cat.

3. "Sir Cat" brooch

This cat is obviously looking for my coat lapel. Source

Cat in a monocle = win. Cat with his poofy pants tucked into his tiny boots = double win! If I owned this fancy dandy of a cat brooch, I'd wear it everywhere. Even to bed. Even in the shower. Well, maybe not the shower ... I wouldn't want it to become water damaged.

4. "Village Cats" mousepad

These cats can skip the YMCA and crash at my place! Source

Score! Who needs a macho man when they can have these cats? I cannot express how happy this mousepad makes me. I especially like the little cop. If there were a mousepad with an image of that guy driving a tiny squad car, I might have to buy two.

5. Funny cat bottle cap magnet

I'm drawn to this crazy cat-tongue magnet. Source

Sometimes my Cosmo's tongue sticks out a little after he's groomed himself. That peeky pink tongue never fails to make me laugh. The cat on this bottle cap magnet is taking it a step further. She's doing the whole, "Nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah!" tongue-sticking-out thing. I love a sassy cat.

6. "Cat Purrraid" wallet

I want to put this cat in charge of all my money. Source

What's better than a cat driving a speed boat? How about water-skiing cats in pyramid formation being pulled by the speed boat? How about BOTH of those images on a wallet? Cats that cool need to be in charge of my cash and credit cards.

Waterskiing cats? Yes, please! Source

7. "Cats in Hats" Galaxy S3 phone hinge wallet

This wallet/phone case is out-of-this-world silly! Source

Kittens floating in space and wearing interesting hats? Hell yes. I take back my previous statement about the water-skiing cats. These are the cats who need to handle my cash and credit cards. And this phone case/wallet's insane cuteness and hilarity makes me want to toss my iPhone and buy a Galaxy S3. I think these cats are employed by the phone company. Well-played, Samsung.

8. "Here's to You, Baby" travel bag tag

Now this is a vacation! Source

I want to hang out at airport bars with these two -- they look like they know how to pass the time during flight delays. Plus, look at the orange tabby's bag -- stylin'! I want one of these bag tags for each of my suitcases and maybe a couple to wear as earrings.
