Sing Along to Our Kitty Version of the "The 12 Days of Christmas"

If my cats had written the classic holiday song, this is the tune we’d be singing.

Did you ever wonder what would happen if cats got to write Christmas carols and holiday songs? No? Well, maybe you should have, because the creative spirit lurks deep within the hearts of our little house panthers. Take, for example, my cats’ version of the old favorite “The Twelve Days of Christmas."

On the first day of Christmas, my mama gave to me: a super-giant kitty-cat tree

On the second day of Christmas, my mama gave to me: two soft beds

… and a super-giant kitty-cat tree.

On the third day of Christmas, my mama gave to me: three mouse toys

… two soft beds, and a super-giant kitty-cat tree.

On the fourth day of Christmas, my mama gave to me: four chirping birds

… three mouse toys, two soft beds and a super-giant kitty-cat tree.

On the fifth day of Christmas, my mama gave to me: fiiiiive milk jug riiiiiiings

... four chirping birds, three mouse toys, two soft beds, and a super-giant kitty-cat tree.

On the sixth day of Christmas, my mama gave to me: six hits of catnip

… five milk jug rings, four chirping birds, three mouse toys, two soft beds, and a super-giant kitty-cat tree.

On the seventh day of Christmas, my mama gave to me: seven tasty treaties

… six hits of catnip, five milk jug rings, four chirping birds, three mouse toys, two soft beds, and a super-giant kitty-cat tree.

On the eighth day of Christmas, my mama gave to me: eight sips of goat milk

… seven tasty treaties, six hits of catnip, five milk jug rings, four chirping birds, three mouse toys, two soft beds, and a super-giant kitty-cat tree.

On the ninth day of Christmas, my mama gave to me: nine kittens dancing (yuck!)

… eight sips of goat milk, seven tasty treaties, six hits of catnip, five milk jug rings, four chirping birds, three mouse toys, two soft beds, and a super-giant kitty-cat tree.

On the tenth day of Christmas, my mama gave to me: 10 YAYs for leaping

… nine kittens dancing, eight sips of goat milk, seven tasty treaties, six hits of catnip, five milk jug rings, four chirping birds, three mouse toys, two soft beds, and a super-giant kitty-cat tree.

On the eleventh day of Christmas, my mama gave to me: 11 squirrels running

… 10 YAYs for leaping, nine kittens dancing, eight sips of goat milk, seven tasty treaties, six hits of catnip, five milk jug rings, four chirping birds, three mouse toys, two soft beds and a super-giant kitty-cat tree.

On the twelfth day of Christmas, my mama gave to me: 12 laps for purring

… 11 squirrels running, 10 YAYs for leaping, nine kittens dancing, eight sips of goat milk, seven tasty treaties, six hits of catnip, five milk jug rings, four chirping birds, three mouse toys, two soft beds and a super-giant kitty-cat tree.

What would your cats include if they wrote "The 12 Days of Christmas?" Or would they write their own version of a holiday song? Nerotai Catzarium? Kittens We Have Heard on High? Santa Paws Is Coming to Town? Deck The Halls (with Sprigs of Catnip)? Discuss in the comments!
