June is American Humane's Adopt-a-Cat Month, and during the month of June The Cat's Meow will profile cats awaiting adoption.

Kung Pow (left) is a sweet senior lap cat with the most startling blue eyes. He was moments away from being euthanized at a city shelter before he walked through the doors of the Elmsford Animal Shelter suffering from severe dehydration and an upper respiratory infection. This mellow boy is feeling fine now even though he is feline leukemia positive. His ideal home would be as a single cat, or in a loving home already caring for those who are FELV+.

Kung Pow is at the Elmsford Animal Shelter in Elmsford, NY (914-592-7334).

If you'd like to meet Kung Pow, please click here to complete an application. You will be contacted within 24 hours by an adoption coordinator.

Don't live in New York? Your local shelter is brimming with cats of every breed, age and personality just waiting for a loving home. Whether you prefer young and frisky or mature and mellow, youre sure to find the perfect cat companion during Adopt-A-Cat Month! Remember, you can go directly to Petfinder from Catster's homepage.
