Cat Owner's Manual › Chapter 6: Cat Grooming › General Coat Maintenance for Cats ›Intro: General Coat Maintenance for Cats
Regular grooming minimizes hair deposits in your home, makes your cat more attractive, and can lessen or even prevent the problem of hairball regurgitation. (See Hair Balls.) Most cats will accept, even welcome, assistance with coat maintenance. In the feline world, reciprocal grooming is a way to build relationships and an opportunity for relaxation. To ensure that the cat views coat maintenance in this way, begin rudimentary grooming during kittenhood, to acclimate the young feline to the procedure.
