Holly Tse is a woman of many facets. She’s a Traditional Chinese Reflexologist, a Dragon Spirit Guide who can tune in to people’s vibrational energies, a mother, a wife, a self-published author, a lifelong environmentalist, Caster contributor, and a Green Cat Expert. She’s also a mom to Furball, the cat she adopted eight years ago from the Humane Society.
When Furball was a kitten, he was obsessed with playing. As in 16 hours of non-stop play without taking a break to eat or sleep. To keep Furball entertained and engaged, Holly bought Furball toy after toy. Cats can be fickle though and she often ended up with toys Furball just wasn’t interested in. Or, in a classic cat move, he only wanted to play with the packaging.
Holly was already passionate about helping Furball live an environmentally-friendly life, feeding him natural food and using organic wheatgrass litter, so it only made sense that she started making Furball toys from materials that were headed for the recycling or garbage bins. The toys were such a success that she decided to share them with other cat lovers on her blog Green Little Cat and in her book “Make Your Own Cat Toys: Saving the Planet One Cat Toy at a Time.”
Holly’s toys are super easy to make. (Even the most DIY-challenged will be able to create all four of her toilet paper roll toys. Seriously, give it a try!) And be sure check out Green Little Cat for lots of tips and tricks for green living ideas for your cat.
