I lived to be 17 with diabetes and cancer. I finally had a stroke and mommy knew it was time. It is hard because like you she had me since I was 6 weeks old, but time heals, even though she still tears up when she sees my picture. We know how you are feeling but remember the good times and also that you will see your baby again. Cat Health > Calling all diabetic kitties...

Mr. Sister - In Loving- Memory I'm a Good Boy - I love my mommy moderator     Purred: Fri Mar 13, '09 6:05pm PST  In my older years I became a diabetic. Mom worried about me all the time. The first time the vet took my sugar numbers they were 600. It was a wonder I was alive but mom did not notice anything until the litterbox became - let's say muddy. Then she thought it was Sugar - but when it wasn't she ran home to get me. I was a very pickey eater. It was hard to get my sugar regulated. I took insulin twice a day at the same time. I did not like wet food - finally I got on Purina One and it seemed to work for me - I almost regulated myself. I live 17 years - around 7 with being a diabetic. In the end I passed of a stroke. At first you will have a hard time getting your sugar regulated but keep up the work - it helps to give food and shots at the same time every day.
