I AM- MARSHMELLOW CAT!

Keri I am so sorry that you and Cinders are going through this. It was very difficult to make the decision to help Purrcy leave this life - but he was miserable and he looked at ME and pretty much said "it's enough - let me go" - so I did and I told him as he passed that we would meet again and for him to wait for me, and that I loved him.
It wasn't easy, but I knew it was the right thing to do.
My heart goes out to you. Huggs and Purrs to you.

I'm glad that Pickle is ok now! and yes it IS a lot of work feeding a cat thru a tube - but it is worth it in the long run!

We are sorry to hear that Delyte is declining. Hugs to his family. It is so hard to lose a beloved family member, but we hope his passing is gentle for him.
With much love,

I don't know much about this sort of problem, but it kind of reminds me of a yeast infection. Have you had her tested for that? Maybe yogurt would help? shrug
The wipes might provide some immediate relief, but maybe causing irritation in the long-run. Are they medicated? are they scented? are they actually wipes that are used on humans?
If so - they may be the culprit. Try applying yogurt to her vulva - and perhaps adding it to her diet for a short time - Stonybrook Farms has the most live cultures and I think you can purchase it unflavoredshrug

So sorry to hear this. I was diagnosed with HL - but it was actually a blockage of my common bile duct. The symptoms are the same - jaundice, inappetence, lethargy.
I think HL may often be a diagnosis for an UNDER-LYING problem.
My vet told my mumma to look at TRIADITIS.
I had surgery and had a feeding tube in my neck for a few months.
Some cats who have true HL (these are usually cats who have been over weight and lose weight too fast) will begin to eat by themselves - others need a feeding tube to help them.
Mumma thinks that because you were hiding under the bed that here is an underlying issue that needs to be diagnosed.
We wish you the very best and hope you will keep us informed about Pickles.

A vet visit might be warranted, but I think I would just chalk it up to kitten klumsies. And BTW Toast is just lovely!! I think more Maine Coon than NFC! (?)

I agree with Alex, but also if you DO decide to stick with just the dry food - DO NOT put canned gravy on the food! Most canned (and powdered gravy mix) contain onion and/or garlic which is not good for cats. Make your own gravy using just beef or chicken stock maybe?
Good luck!!

Senior Cats > The ups and downs of loving a very old furt.

I AM- MARSHMELLOW CAT!

Dear Deb,
Yes I know the heartache of the ups and downs of older cats. and I understand the desperation and fear of losing the beautiful cat that you have loved for so many many years. I don't know any way to make you feel less fearful, but I do know that YOU will know when it is time to let go. It is something you do out of compassion and love - you set aside your fears and make the decision - because is it the right thing to do. It is NOT the easy thing to do.
I cry still after helping my precious Purrcy to the Bridge in October. I was a basket case for days before, because I felt I couldn't let him go, but he was so sick and so tired, and he had gone through so much. I know he recovered from his surgeries and other illnesses because he loved me and had faith in my love for him. But it was time for me to make it right for him. It was so so hard, but I did it because I loved him so much, that I couldn't bear to see him suffer. I loved him too much to allow it.
I'm crying again now - I think the hurt never goes away altogether, but becomes a bit less a bit at a time.
I hurt for you because I know how it feels,I just can't tell you how to make it not feel so devastating. I'm sorry. It is wonderful to have a heart cat, but not wonderful to lose them. I wish I could help more.
Big hugs
Purrcy's mumma

Why is she on K/D diet? She really needs high-cal food Iams makes one and I think Hills makes one too. To force feed make a thick slurry out of the food by adding water.(I warm it in the syringe by putting the syringe in a cup of warm water).
I agree an ultrasound might be helpful. But ultrasounds - in particular - in the gallbladder/liver/pancreas area may not be able to visualize all of the organs.
You are in our thoughts and our paws are crossed for you!
