Saying Goodbye: Memorials & Support > Oliver went to the Bridge today

Martin Macho Mart     Purred: Wed Jun 20, '07 4:00pm PST  We are very sad here. Nothing more could be done for our little Ollie, who was suffering from an as-yet-undiagnosed problem that attacked his bone marrow, made him blind, and took away his zest for life. We helped him to the Bridge today. He has been there for about an hour and is eagerly awaiting his friends. He will finally get to meet my grandparents' dogs, Tolly and Baron, and their kitties, Snowy and C-Kitty. It was a horrible decision to have to make and we are going to miss him so much it's indescribable. But in the end, we know that we did everything we could to try and help him and when that was no longer possible, we helped him to the Bridge without any pain or suffering. He held our hands and made biscuits with his paws right before he went. We feel that he was finally at peace after so much suffering. Martin Macho Mart     Purred: Wed Jun 20, '07 3:53pm PST  Thanks to all who purred for Oliver and watched over him during his illness. Unfortunately, he continued to decline past the point where anything could be done for him. This afternoon our parents helped him become an angel. He is now watching over all of us and hoping to find peace at the Bridge.
