Honestly, none of us have come from either.....

Meowmy rescued Sneakers, Dusty, Mia, and Gabby from the outside. They were all ferals. I was too, but my Daddy rescued me without mom's help. We were all young so we adjusted quite well.

If merrin has always been the "only child" then she may never completely get over the new addition no matter what you do. Girl cats are very difficult if they're older and have been the only one. She may end up simply tollerating his existence. Some girls do have the ability to warm up, but it's all dependant on her personality. I don't think you went too fast, you did good by putting Garfield in a seperate room. Some cats are just happier when they get all the attention...that's all

The Domestic version IS a mixed breed. But the American and the European ones are recognized breeds....I'm not sure what the differences are but I'm sure it has to do w/ their features....

Bump!

If the personalities of the cats match, it would be okay. For instance if the new one is nutty and the older kitties are calm and relaxed...bad combination!

Some older cats don't like young playful kitties too much. But you know your kitties personalities best!

Poor kitty, you haven't found the purfect name yet?? How about Spanish words or towns? I'm not from the west so I know a limited amount...but I did find these...

Adobe
Alamo
Angeles
Augustine
Amigo
Antonio
Armada
Adios
Arroyo
Anton
Albuquerque
Arenas

You could call him "Asta la vista!" MOL Or is that spelled Hasta? Hmm.... shrug
Anyway, my faves of these are Amigo, Arroyo, and Alamo!

Kitten Corner > need a name for a big, talkative, yellow boy

Here are a bunch that I thought up!

For his talkative nature
Meowser
Mimic
Echo

For his orange tabby color
Cheeto
Dorito
Julius
Biscuit

These human names mean red or red haired which an orange tabby is the kitty version of a red head...
Adam
Flynn
Russ
Roy
Aiden (means little fire)

For his size
Butch
Andre (as in the giant)

Or the typical orange cat names from movies and cartoons
Garfield
Milo
Morris
Heathcliff (or Heath for short)

Or Beau because he's so handsome!

Remember to be mindful of your sneaky indoor kitties! One year when my Vavo (Grandma) wasn't looking I sneaked out the door as she passed out treats to the kids at the door! I had fun!! But Meowmy and Daddy were worried.
