We are still purring at our house for all the sick kitties (my brofurs included) and for those who have recently crossed the bridge.

Does this fur- make my butt- look fat?

I just got my annual checkup. I had my teeth and body inspected, my heart listened to, my weight taken and my rabies shot. They are required by law yearly here. The vet does not give any other annual shots, and she tells mommy to inpsect where we get our injections and to call if she notices anything.

Even though we go outside with mommy while she gardens, we never come in contact with other cats, so our vet only recommends we get a heartworm pill and frontline treatments during the warm months we will be outside some.

Our vet has been working this way for many years and mommy was happy to hear the news. For us, it's not a financial issue but one of safety. We are very happy with our vet and she stays on top of new research and procedures.

Please talk to your vet about unnecessry shots because they can do more harm than good, as stated in this article. Thanks so much for posting this.

If you liked the vet and felt comfortable, then it sounds good. I like seeing the same vet every time, so our vet doesn't have us see different doctors. I don't really like the vet anyway, but at least she's always the same person. If a mobile vet was just one person who could get to know you, then that would be swell. Who likes car rides in those carriers anyway? Yuck.

For basic vet care it sounds wonderful if you can count on the vet to be on time and prepared. Obviously some are not!

Because of my brofur Felix's potty issues, he would still have to see his specialist sometimes so mom would have someone in case of emergencies that she trusts, but otherwise, I would love a vet in a van for shots and stuff. Who knows, I might even try to escape and check out the yard and then run mommy in circles trying to catch me just for fun. big laugh

My grandma comes to stay with us on and off when our mommy has to be gone. If grandma couldn't do it, mommy knows a fantastic pet sitter who'd she'd hire if needed.

You can go to a pet hotel or ask your vet for recommendations for a good pet sitter if you don't know of one. We know we are lucky our grandma is willing to spend the night if needed, but she can't leave her kitties for too many days, but she would come every day to play with us cuddle with us and feed us if mommy had to be gone for a few days.

Behavior & Training > Opinions/help....my naughty brother

Well, I'm four and still act like a little kitten. I LOVE to attack my two brothers, and get so bummed out that they just don't want to chase and play like I do. Mom just lets us go and we have worked it out. Both will play "bop on the head" and Felix is really good at Rock Em Sock Em Robots. Sometimes Felix will run and play chase, but Jack prefers to just thumper kick me and be lazy. Unless it gets too rough, mom just watches.

Also, for a while, we had another kitty here, but she really didn't want me around and one time when I tried to play with her, she bit my ear eek Mommy cleaned it up and I'm fine, but I still tried to play with her a few times after that. Mom wonders if I'll grow out of my kitten stageshrug

Glad you found a few things out and seem to have gotten the litter box thing under control.

Ok, I cannot let my brofur, Jack, make the only post. In our house, if it's a toy, it IS mine. If I can bat at it, attack it or otherwise play with it, it's mine.

If mom buys a toy, it's mine. If it wiggles, wriggles or moves, it's my toy and I have every right to attack it. This does not matter if it's supposed to be a cat toy or not.

If it's plastic, a milk ring or just a foot moving under the covers, it's mine to play with, even if it's my brofur's tail. Anything which I deem is mine to play with is mine. There is no room for negotiation.

I live to play,

Have you tried Rescue Remedy? You can add this to our water or even rub a little into our ears. Mom has ordered some for us because I am still not liking that new white beast who lives with us now. Mommy says it works for a lot of kitties, so we're gonna try it to calm us all down.

I'd get Cosmo to a vet right away. Excessive thirst can be caused by many things, but all will require treatment. Good luck.

I wish my mommy knew what my first name was cuz I got stuck with "Mama Kitty". As if making babies was the most important thing I've accomplished. Geez.
Actually, no one seemed to know my first name and when my Shamrock foster dad got me, I had three tiny kittens with me. He just called me Mama Kitty and didn't name my babies. When a bunch of his friends came over to visit, I picked out my new mommy right away and tried to adopt her on the spot. It took a little convincing, but she caved. cheer

Anyway, she tried a bunch of names on for size, but I seemed to have gotten used to being called Mama Kitty during my foster, so she let it ride. I've been Mama Kitty ever since even though my babies all got great homes and I got "fixed".

In the end, I guess I'm as much to blame as mommy since I started to respond to Mama Kitty. Silly me should have held out for a name more suited to the princess that I am smile
