^ Shadow, I was surprised to see turkey legs and necks at my grocery store. The last time I went, they must've been out.

I served chicken thighs, but only one cat ate on them.

Oh, I probably should mention- my dad's Hulk Hogan. laugh out loud

I had to crush them anyway to get them into the coffee grinder. Either powdered shells stink to high hell or I overloaded the motor getting them crushed.

I hope we can get to small bones soon cuz this has been a pain to do.

We had chicken breasts and a piece of beef kidney. I think I'm going to call the beef kidney a wash since they aren't going for it at this time.

I have some chicken thighs we need to get to for the next few days.

I was really excited today to find that my local grocery store had turkey drumsticks and turkey necks. I was afraid they would only have whole turkeys in stock.

I figured that if I cracked them, I'd lose a lot of the shell in it falling down into the sink or in with the yoke. I didn't want to have to go fishing in the yoke to find as many little floating pieces of shell that I could.

I'm trying to be as frugal as I can with the shells so I'm not throwing away a large bit of them.

I noticed someone in the Yahoo list mentioned a coffee grinder, and I got one at Target yesterday. I also go the eggs and went to blowing them out.

thinking There has to be a better way to get the yoke and white stuff out without losing too much shell. It was too thick and I had to work to get it out. Plus, that clear membrane that keeps the shells together kept closing up and closing my hole. Nevertheless, the shells dried all last night.

The kitties are still on chunks of chicken breasts, but I'm planning on adding in a little pseudo bone in the form of eggshells.

I'm wondering how I should prepare it. Should I grind it up to powder? Do I need to have flakes for them to crunch on? If I need to get it to a powder consistancy, what do I use- a mortar and pestle?

My Beverly was a feral as a kitty, and she reacts the same way when she's eating. It's like she's terrified she'll never get fed.

Even at almost twice her desired weight, she still is scared there won't be any food, so she shoves her skinny brother aside. I have to watch those two like a hawk any time they're fed. He gets lots of small snacks since he really doesn't like getting a large pile of food at one sitting.

It's probably how much turkey that you're getting. My Bev balloned up to 18 pounds on kibble. red face

Guess who fed it to her....
