hi, i have to kitties, two and one years old. I took them to the vet yesterday for annual check and rabies and distemper vaccines. They were fine right after the visit and ate dinner. But in the morning they did not want to eat and are very quite, especially the older one, who does not want to leave a corner and just sleeps there. And i can see by her eyes that she doesn't feel well.
I know there are side effects after vaccines. But i was just wondering whether someone else had this kind of experience and when the kitty became ok again...
thank you!!!

Hi,
I am feeding frankenprey to my cats but one of them does not eat liver or kidneys. (I am not sure why, probably it is the texture thing...).
I really need advise though on what to substitute the liver with.
Please help !

ah, thanks so much!!! I was really concerned about that, thought calcium from bones is so important for their diet.

Hello catsters,
I was wondering about which bones are safe to give to kitties without grinding. Most of them seem to be pretty small and soft, but I am still afraid to that my cats might break their teeth...

maybe you should feed him more. How old is the kitten? Excessive neediness might also be the sign that he doesn't feel well.

Dear Catster community,
Can anyone tell me at what age should a kitten should be introduced to scheduled feeding? I know that kittens should eat as much as they want and because their stomachs are small they should often. But when should I switch to scheduled feeding?

Thanks.

I agree, organs might be th culprit. My younger cat was doing the same, but she is fine eating raw beef and pork chuncks.

Raw Food Diet > Not digesting raw food

Hello ,
I started giving my kitten raw food. When she at about 4 months and she was perfectly fine eating eat and loved it. But after some time she started vomiting from ear. So I stopped. I was giving her catinfo recipe ( my older cat raised on raw food was fine). Vomiting occurs even when I give pure liver or hearts. So she was in canned food and cooked chicken diet, but I really want to switch her back to healthy raw food.
Do you think it is possible that my kitten simply cannot digest raw food, or I needed a smoother transition with her and should try again somehow...

Kitten Corner > Suckling at 6 months old

Dear catster community,
I have two cats. One of the is a teenage kitten of almost 6 months old and she periodically suckles on the older cat. The older cat definitely cannot produce milk, so, as far as i understand, the suckling behavior of the smaller cat can be explained as a that she needs a pacifier and was not properly weaned. After suckling, the kitten only licks the food and doesn't chew it. I guess, expecting liquid food instead.
I was wondering whether someone can advise on the problem. Does that behavior stops after neutering? I bought taste deterrent that I wanted to put on the older cat, but that might prevent her from cleaning herself...

Oh, really! That's great! I was mostly worried about taurine. I added a bit more than the amount indicated in the recipe on cat info.

I did add liver. And my cat loves the food. I mean, she loves all food I think... but after this one she just gets satiated very fast.
