I'd assume it's an extension of the kill then eat cycle. Cats hunt/stalk, then kill and then feast. So you're bringing your kill to your feast.

Scratching post..*coughs* erm, that's already been covered.

Slyvy kept at the furniture even after 5 different posts but I fixed that habit. *cackles* oh yes, a little bit of double sided tape on her favorite areas fixed it right up.

Behavior & Training > She sleeps...then wakes me up

Slyvy

Slyvy sleeps next to me until about 5am. At that point she's trouble! She climbs the curtain, knocks things onto me, bats at my face...

She does this for about half an hour until I kick her out and close the door.

She can't be hungry since there's always kibble left and I don't give her gooey food until 10:30.

She has no toys in the bedroom and I don't play with her in there.

So, how do I get her to sleep through the night, or leave me alone!

Please don't put your baby in a kill shelter! Message me before you do and I'll foster him until he can be placed in a good home!

Is he neutered? If he's not that may be the issue.

Grooming > Calico with tabby stripes...?

I've been wondering for awhile, why does my baby have tabby stripes?
She's clearly a calico-white base with orangey cream, black and brown but she also has tabby stripes.
The stripes are white and only on her black patches.

I've never seen similar markings.

Behavior & Training > Introduction of new kitten

Slyvy

I will rule the- world right- after a nap

I have a 5.5yr baby who is still in many ways my kitten. She's been an only cat for most of her life and while she did have a sister for a year, they weren't friends.

There were no fights, only Payton hiding from Slyvy.
They did eat in the same room without drama and use the same litter box.

In a month, I might be getting a new kitten. She's a gorgeous chocolate Himalayan. The girl is 8 weeks now and I'll be getting around 18 or 20 weeks.

Once I get the kitten, I know to keep her in a separate room, use the towel for scent exchange and slowly introduce them.

My question is, what can I do now to pave the way for these girls to be friends?
I'd like the introduction process to be quick and painless.
I work long hours so......

Food & Nutrition > Home grown catnip!

Mommy is looking to start growing catnip for me indoors! YAY!
But she's having trouble finding a good set. Petco/smart only has the dried kind and amazon doesn't look reliable to her.
So, where can she find a good indoor catnip growing kit?

I think my vet laughs at me. I took her in to get her checked out and she-again-got a clean bill of health.

So, we're going with a happy sigh lol

My Slyvy loves the electric blanket, thought I'm a little worried.
Is it normal for her to let out this little moan of (what I assume is) pleasure when she settles down? She only does it on the electric blanket and seems too young for arthritis. She's 5 and still can jump from the floor to the top of a door
She got a clean bill of health 8 months ago
