It is called Flea allergy dermatitis. You can Google it and there are a bunch of sites that have a lot of information. I have that problem myself frown kitty
What Meowma does is give me some Advantage and it will stop. But she has to treat all of us and there are 4 cats and 3 big dogs here...eek
so best of luck and read on line or ask your vet.
Please keep us all informed as to what you decide to do.
welcome

As a former Groomer, Meowma would have to agree with what was said above. She used to do mobile grooming. But in your house. So that was not much of a problem for her, as she would only do these kind of cats on one day and then clean, clean clean and change EVERYTHING!! There are 3 other cats that live with me. Meowma loves to recommend and uses this, http://www.petsmart.com/product/index.jsp?productId=11532065&f=PAD%2 FpsNotAvailInUS%2FNo
This one is from Petsmart.com .
"This de-shedding tool is specially designed to glide deep into your pet's undercoat to reduce shedding by up to 90%. Your pet will love the soothing massage as you safely remove loose fur.

This ShedMonster Professional De-Shedding Tool is an ideal solution to control your pet's shedding. The specially designed edges glide deep into your pet's undercoat to reduce shedding by up to 90%. The tool removes mats and tangles from your pet's coat and provides a soothing massage your pet will love.

Safely removes fur from dogs and cats
Removes mats and tangles
Provides a soothing massage for your pet
Specially designed edges glide deep into undercoat to reduce shedding by up to 90%
Won't rip or irritate your pet's skin
Available in short hair design (for cats and dogs with shorter hair) and long hair design (for most dogs)" This one is $19.00

There are other ones at the stores also. Just take a look at them. They are small blades, that cut through the fur and help with matting and shedding. We have a green one from Patsupermarket. It was about $14.00 dollars. This is what Petsupermarkes said",Designed for full body grooming, Magic Coat Total Body Pro de-Matting tool prevents mat formations before they occur by removing loose, dead mat-causing hair. The stainless steel blades gently and easily detangle matted hair. Once a week use will keep your pet’s coat tangle free, mat-free, and beautifully groomed. The tool’s contour shape and rubberized handle provides a firm comfortable grip. Four Paws, Magic Coat, De-Matting Tool." The green one is what Meowma uses on me. Just please be VERY CAREFUL, under arm pits, as the loose and thin skin is VERY EASY to cut!
But if you brush with one of these ever week, there should be no mats at all and it will help to thin out the fur . Without looking too chopped!Best of luck and everything is always returnable, if you are not happy with it, at all of the stores. Now Meowma is a part time Pet Nutrition Specialist for The Nutro Company. She does those in store demos , and takes to a lot of cool people and gets to see a lot of great fur friends and family!

Food & Nutrition > confusing information about "Kitten" food

I was only a kitten when Meowma brought me home. There were already 3 Adult cats here. Meowma also fed us all Nutro Max Adult Dry and I got to eat Nutro Max Kitten canned. Boy I was so lucky and it made the other 3 jealous, because they wanted my kitten food! Luckily Meowma has done this before, with Sootball. Mom also works part time as a Pet Nutrition Specialist for Nutro . I am so glad that you found out what to do.

Meowma had a Siamese mix that lived to be 19 years old and he had an autoimmune problem, where his gums and teeth did not get along. She was told that they have those kind of problems too. I sure hope you find something that will work.

I am so sorry for yore troubles switching foods. Meowma would have to recommend that you take this up with your Vet.She is a Pet Nutrition Specialist for The Nutro Company
and even though she was a Vet Teach for 3 years in 1986, she thinks you should ask your Vet. Best of Luck on figuring this one out, but if the other food is not causing any problems, you may just need to keep feeding it. Some of us can not handle a higher protein and the richness of a new food.
Please keep us all posted as to how things turn out
