we're here! we're trapped in the house right now, cannot get out at all. Every entrance to the house is completely covered in like 5 feet of snow drifts. Mom's ex boyfriend is running the snowblower in the driveway now and mom tried to go out there and help but still can't get out so we have to wait for him to dig out a doorway. we never ran out of electricity so we have heat and all of that! big grin

Please take the kitty to the vet. Anytime a cat stops doing it's normal things like grooming and is losing hair, something is wrong. It needs to be checked. Do you notice any other strange behavior? Sleeping more, eating less, lethargic, depressed, etc? These are all symptoms that kitty is sick.

I know this storm is not as bad as Sandy but for the people of New Jersey and New York it's a big deal as they are dealing with so much already. Please check in if you can or even if you're not in that zone but just concerned. We'd love to hear from you. Let's keep purring for them out there! They need it! hug

Also try to use a mild dish detergent. I use Palmolive clear with no dyes or perfumes. I doubt Pippie bit her in the chin, there would have been blood. This really does sound like acne, I hear about this a lot.

Yes it can happen quickly. As far as the itching, I'm sure it's different for every kitty. Make sure to wash it well with a mild soap and water, about twice daily. You said you have a vet visit right? So the vet will be able to tell if it's something other than acne. Poor little sweetie.

It does sound like acne. Don't use plastic food and water dishes, use stainless steel, glass or ceramic. Plastic harbors bacteria, even after being washed. Also, you can use mild soap and water to wash it and keep the area clean. way to go
