I am debating adopting another kitty so JC has some company when we are not home. JC has spent his whole life with our dog Samson, they were buddies. Samson passed away Nov 19th and now JC is home alone. Our previous cat Mystique had passed away in 2011. We give him lots of lovings but I feel so bad when we are gone, it is obvious he is lonely. He follows us from room to room and greets us when we come in the door.

So I am looking for some input for anybody who has had this experience. I have had multiple cats before and the house if very pet friendly, but I am not sure how he will take to a new cat. JC will be 10 years old in March.

Thanks for your advice smile

I had a fountain a while ago and it was a success. They like to drink/play in the dog's big water bowl, lol.

Great site! My kitties get Orijen grain free kibble and Wellness gf wet. They are doing wonderful, could not believe the difference when they switched over. Thank you for putting out that info.

Hi Minou,
We love Orijen around here too! Everyone (including the dog) loves Orijen and are doing very well on it.

Chicken soup for the cat's soul canned food is under a $1 a can around here, that might be an option.

Same here with the smaller BM's after upping the wet food servings. I thought it would be the opposite, what a good suprise.kitty

The A-door-able toys have always been a big hit in our house and they are relatively inexpensive.

If you have somewhere to hang it , you could make a homemade one out of a few feet of thin elastic tied to a fuzzy mouse or something. They love the bounce it gets from the elastic.

Brown paper bags are still a favorite also.

False. But a laundry basket full of warm clothes is very cozy.

True or False

You actually do play with the family dog.

Thanks Binkssmile
I agree with you. I am keeping the kibble around because it does help when you can't be around 24/7. We take vacations now and then and sometimes a family member can't stop in every day to feed them wet, kibble is a good back up.

I think TOTW is still a good food, but I am switching to Orijen at the end of this bag and see how they do on that. Their wet food will still be twice a day and they seem to like the Wellness and recently really liked EVO. I wish Orijen made canned food too.

While wet food may be great for them, I personally don't believe a quality kibble is bad for them. A mixture seems to be the best result for us right now.
