Look up PureBites! they have them in a lot of different pet stores. They are 100% meat.

Yeah it should be perfectly fine, the whole "different food for each life stage" thing is a bit of a myth. The only difference is the quantity, and kittens will obviously need to eat more.

Yes Salmon oil would be a healthy addition but you need to start with the basics. What are you feeding him/her?

Friskies pate canned food. It's in high protein and moisture, only about 4-5% carb(depends on the flavor) and all the protein is animal based. way to go

I would never touch their dry though, that stuff is a whole nother animal.

And I supplement with raw meat scraps as well.

I've always liked Taste of the Wild. Both forms are good, although if your going to be feeding mobs of stray cats dry may be more practical since the wet might just be sitting out there spoiling.

If TOTW is too pricey you could go for Felidae

I use it an am happy with the results, although I do slightly prefer the original formula because of the protein content.

Sprinkles does amazing on TOTW, she was super lean, shedding basically ceased to exist on this food. I fed EVO for a hot second because I found a 2.2 lb bag on sale, it was a while ago and I switched off after the first bag b/c it was so expensive, so I can't say how she did on it.

Of course I also feed raw and some canned to get the moisture needs met. I wouldn't reccommend a 100% dry diet.

I stopped with the free feeding a couple years ago, I now have Sprinkles on 1/4 cup of TOTW twice a day and she weighs a healthy 11 lbs.

TOTW is great, cheapest GF option on the market and Sprinkles does great on it, zero dandruff and barely any shedding smile
