We got the Drinkwell Platinum about a month ago, and we love it! All 3 of our kitties drink out of it, but Elvin still wants to drink from the bathtub faucet from time to time (weirdo....wink)

We got ours on amazon, and it was quite a bit less expensive than most other places.

Behavior & Training > I hide in the litter box all day.

She does "sort of" have a room of her own. Her litter box is in our bedroom closet, and at night when we're sleeping and when we're at work we keep the bedroom door shut so "the boys" won't come in there . . . you know, so she can roam around without stress. I guess saying she hides in the litter box "all day" was a bit misleading.

For the few hours in the afternoon/evening when we're at home before we go to sleep we leave the bedroom door open . . . we're hoping that she will get more used to them, but at least they're supervised in case some big fight breaks out.

If they are bothering her too much, I'll just shut the door to the bedroom closet where her litter box is so she can chill out. It's a big walk-in closet, and she has a ton of stuff in there . . . litter box, food station, scratcher, and shelves with cat beds on them (yes, a little shelving unit just for the cats - they may be a tad bit spoiled. LOL)

Thankfully, no big fights have happened ever since we started putting the Bach's Rescue Remedy in their water. I think that has helped some.

I guess things aren't really all that bad . . . I just dream of the day when we don't have to worry about shutting the other kitties out of the bedroom at times!

Matilda, that is a GREAT idea! My mommy feels the same way - she cleans it quite regularly, but still thought it wasn't the most sanitary place to sleep!

Mommy did buy me one of those plush 'cube' beds hoping I would hide in there instead of the litter box, but nope, I still chose my litter box! We'll try your idea - it's great!!! It doesn't solve the problem, but it would make her more comfortable than sitting on litter.

Ha, and Mommy thought it was ironic that you look SO MUCH like Elvin, the main one that picks on me!

We have 3 kitties - Josie, Oliver, and Elvin. Josie was actually here FIRST, but she is without a doubt the most shy. She is not afraid of Oliver (who we got 2nd), but if he starts to play or wrestle with her she will hide to get away from him. She is, however, afraid of Elvin (the newest kitty in the house . . . he's been here since April.)

When we got Elvin, Oliver immediately established his role as the more dominant kitty over Elvin. The two of them are BEST FRIENDS now though! However, Elvin would always pounce on Josie . . . I guess he wanted her "status" in the house.

So, when we're at work and asleep, we keep Josie in her "safe room." When we're here, we keep the whole house open, and Josie will spend all of her time hiding in her litter box if she knows Elvin can get to her. Again - she is not afraid of Oliver - sometimes I will just put him in her "safe room" to give her company, and though they're not best friends or anything, she won't hide unless he just really tries to wrestle with her too much.

What should I do? I have tried Feliway, and it DID NOT help. I have recently started putting Bach's Rescue Remedy in everyone's water, and I have noticed that helping some (Elvin was much more aggressive towards Josie before that, and Josie was much more freaked out before the Rescue Remedy.) Should I do the crate thing, or what? I just don't want to freak Josie out too much.

And yes, everyone here has been spayed or neutered.

Food & Nutrition > Rasha's losing weight!!

Mooch - thank you, I almost forgot to mention the carrots! Yes, we have noticed more big chunks of carrots in our EVO as well. So, that . . . with the changed consistency . . . and the fact that the cats won't really eat it now . . . hmm, something's got to be up!

Shadow, here's the info from the only can we have left - Mommy tried feeding part of this can to us yesterday, but we hardly touched it:

How rude - Rasha, I forgot to send you purrs - I hope you start eating soon!!! hug

Also, we have noticed something different about the EVO in the last few weeks . . . normally there would be a ton of "juice," but lately it's been a little firmer with less juice. Mommy actually thought it looked better than normal. But, I guess it's been ever since then that everyone's decided to not eat it. The cans ARE in date, so no worries there.

Hmm, this is very interesting because our Mommy has noticed that we have not been eating our EVO like we used to either. Josie was the first one to refuse to eat it a couple of weeks ago, and just today Elvin and I ate no more than 2 bites of our food. Mommy ended up giving us some dry food (Wellness and EVO mixed) to make sure we'd at least eat something!

Mommy usually rotates EVO and Wellness grain-free with us, but Josie has decided she is tired of both of them. Mommy has since had to buy a few different kinds of food here and there to make sure Josie eats, but we have been okay with what we have until the last few days.

Let us know if anyone finds out any info about EVO - this can't be some coincidence that everyone has decided to stop eating it! Also, even if the hot weather is to blame, it shouldn't really affect us - we're inside only cats, and our Mommy and Daddy keep the air conditioner set at a nice 68 degrees all summer! happy dance

Yes, my mom is thinking of purchasing a water fountain for me because of the same issue. I have lived with her for 3 months now, and she has only seen me drink out of a bowl twice. I do, however, go crazy for and demand that she turn water on in the sink AND the bathtub. I've got my mommy trained for sure!

At least I do eat mostly wet food, so I am getting a good amount of moisture in my food. Mommy still would like to see me drink water more....well, more NOT from the faucet! wink
