The good news is we have a foster willing to take these 4 cats out of animal control. Tess and her babies are beautiful and highly adoptable cats. Unforunately they have all been stricken with an upper respiratory infection. The sooner we remove them from Animal Control the greater their chance of survival. I know we can't save them all, but we do have an opportunity to save this little family. If you can find it in your heart to help out by donating or cross posting please do so. Below are links to their pictures. Thank you for your time in reading this plea.

The catch is you need to decide if you could take them before they are destroyed at animal shelter at 8:00am 7/8/11

We will pull this beautiful babies and have them vaccinated, spayed/neutered, and cambo tested for FIV/FeLV. Newnan-Coweta Humane Society's adoption fee is $50. A small price for your new best friend.

If you live out of state that's ok! We will bring your new companion to you after they have received the appropriate vet care.

The first video is of Raison and Trix, two sweet little orange tabbies (male). They are approx 3 months old. The second video is of Hogan and white and orange male. He is approximately 9mos-1yr. He's shy at first, but very sweet.

This is the rescue I work for. We are almost 1/2 to the monetary goal we set to rescue all 6 cats. We have a foster and once we reach the financial goal we can move forward.

Right now Maybelle and her kittens are sitting in Quaranteen with other sick cats because there just isn't any room on the display floor. Because of kitten season Animal Control is overwhelmed with cats and time is precious.

Please help!

Behavior & Training > Am I just lucky with cats or are they really this awesome.
Shmi

World\'s- Sweetest Cat

My husband and I have 3 cats ages 1, 2, and 2.5. We are about to bring home a 6 week old kitten (this Friday squeee!) and I'm starting to get nervous. My cats get along so harmoniously it amazes me. Is this normal? I always thought cats were solitary. I only have one female (I've heard males get along with either sex, but females don't typically get along with other females). They're all spayed/neutered and I'm very fair with them (meaning they all get equal food, treats and other goodies and they get loved on in their "special" ways). I do this so they won't feel competitive, but I also know you can't fight off nature. Would you other cat owners feel what I am doing is "training" my cats to behave well with one another or do you all suppose they're just friendly cats and I got lucky?

My point in asking all of this is that I want this trend to continue with cat number 4.

Please share you advice and wisdom with me oh cat experts.

Thanks!!
Soon-to-be Mom of 4 kitty cats

Raw Food Diet > Raw and Canned Food Diet

Success!! My picky eater (Shmi) is eating RAW!!! Of course now my bottomless pit (Merlotte) is becoming finicky. He is not interested in RMB where as my Dex will.....ugh. Trial and Error! Trial and Error! Trial and Error! Here's what I've learned.

Shmi doesn't like big chunks, she prefers her food to be almost puree.
Dexter would prefer chunks, but has no issue tearing a bone apart.
Merlotte wants bite size portions and I can't figure out if it's the egg yolk he doesn't like or the chicken leg.

Little butts.

WOW! Thank you Shades, no this info is great. So far Merle and Dex have been eating some raw chicken breast, Dex ate some bone and Merle tried, but could quite figure it out, Some raw roast beef, chicken liver (Merle is not very interested, but Dex will eat anything I put in front of him) and I have been putting egg yolks as a gravy on the meat. I agree about the price when we went shopping last night we found great sales (got a while chicken for 4 dollars and some tyson chicken liver for 1.25 and 5 pounds of steak for 5 dollars) all in all it made enough meals for 16 days and we only spent about 11 dollars. So as long as I don't grind Taurine supplements aren't necessary?

Now my oldest cat (she's 2.5) won't eat it. She sniffs it and looks at it like I'm crazy. She won't give up the can. Any suggestions?

Ok, my second question. I've heard mixed reviews on the Grinding. Some of these top rated sites say NO GRINDING! It removes a lot of the taurine, while others say grind baby, grind. Who do I believe?

I have 3 cats; Shmi (2.5 years), Dex (21mos) and Merle (10mos). I fed Merle and Shmi a mixture of Can and Dry food, but when I brought Dexter home his foster mom encouraged a Raw/Can diet explaining that Dry food is the biggest problem with Cats health issues. i immediately cut out the dry food and began researching. I now feed them canned food 3/4's of the time and raw or deli meet the rest of the time. Eventually I would like to switch completely to Raw food, but I wanted know who else does Raw. What are you feeding your cat? How are you affording it? How is your cat reacting (health-wise)? Etc...I've read all the articles of people who obviously have all the time in the world and an endless supply of money, but what about us normal recession folks who want to see our cats thrive. Any feedback would be simply wonderful.

Thank you
