Plus Power of the Paw > Another Request:Pietro is going downhill fast

Carpe Diem |
| Purred: Wed Jan 13, '10 1:57pm PST | | | | | I can only say THANK YOU!!!!
Your kindness really meant a lot to me during this time. I am still tired but we are slowly recuperating. My own health took a little dip. Cold and flu season and stress do not mix.
Pietro is recovered but will not stop eating. His stomach is barrel shaped all of the time. I noticed a slowing down last night but he is making up for lost time for sure. He is such a good sweet boy.

I have been off of the board dealing with this and catching up on life and sleep.
He is bouncing back but I am watching him closely. There have been some other little colds and such running through but he has been the sickest. By a long shot.
We are all holding steady but tired.

Raw Food Diet > ground vs. not
Mary
I was born royal |
| Purred: Tue Jan 5, '10 2:04am PST | | | | | I feed ground with large chunks in it. I also give necks but no one but one kitty will even go close. I am considering going to chunks only so that I can go to really big chunks.
I am not ready for mice. I don't think that day will ever come.
As for Taurine. I have heard two camps. One that it is the freezing not the grinding. One that the grinding. I am not sure. I add a capsule of Taurine to their food a few times a week just to be sure.

| Purred: Mon Jan 4, '10 6:20pm PST | | | | | Thank you all so much. I am so sorry it took me some time to update. I had nothing to update for a long time. He was limp and a few times he was rolling his eyes in his head and I thought for sure he was not going to make it.
I have been beyond exhausted with this.
He has perked up and is eating. Pneumonia is the loose diagnosis but really we don't know why he was like that.
We don't know what he had or has.
What frightens me is that he is not gaining still. I can't figure this out. Unless my scale and the vet scale are vastly different.
First Renzo with the mystery illness and now Pietro.
I hope I can figure this out. I hope I don't have an illness going through my family.

| Purred: Wed Dec 30, '09 12:59pm PST | | | | | I do not have high hopes for Pietro. He is lethargic and getting worse. We are on our way to the vet now but he looks really bad. I gave him fluids and some little morsels of food which he ate some but I am not too optimistic.
I have not even finished his little page yet.
He is such a sweet loving little boy who is so sweet to everyone. All of the cats loved him right away and the girls mothered him. Harper Lee kind of claimed him as her baby boy even though she is a kitten herself. I really want him to make it but I think maybe his little body has been through too much.
I will keep you posted.
Please even if you don't respond purr a little something for my baby.

Raw Food Diet > Question
Pietro
Love makes the- world go around |
| Purred: Mon Dec 21, '09 2:50am PST | | | | | That is hard to answer because different breeds have different body types.
Is she small framed or large framed?
I have slender cats and cobby bodied cats. I have mostly mixed breeds and depending on their primary breed they are all different. My Siamese descendants are slim, my Maine Coons are large and my Persian is cobby.
Maybe if you could post a photo it would be easier to tell if she is chubby.
