We lost our boy, Lad, on Friday. Lad had been fighting cancer since last September. My daughter and I are devastated, as this dog was the center of our lives. Even though we have two other collies at home, without Lad our home is too quiet and just feels empty. He had one of those "larger-than-life" personalities and his absence has a left a huge hole in our lives. Lad was a velcro dog, and always by my side. The girls love us, but they don't have the same attachment to us that Lad had. Lad had to be with me at all times, and had to sleep with me at night, with his head resting on me. Lad was also our protector, and was on constant watch to make sure the neighbors didn't come into our yard. lol Without him barking at the window, the silence is deafening. Lad was also a gifted beggar. When we were eating he would run and get his dog bowl and stand there holding it until we shared some of our food with him. He was the love of my daughter's life, and she is heartbroken without him, as am I. Lad was only 7 years old when we lost him, way too young.

Would someone please give Lad some wings? There are a ton of pictures of Lad on his page and in his dogster photobook to choose from. thank you

Hugs to you on the loss of Lad. I'm sure he's running free at the bridge. Every dog is special, but every once in a while, that ONE dog comes along. I know what you mean. Blessings to you and yours.
