I came to my forever family the Sunday after Thanksgiving last year (2009). At that time, I was between 5-7 months old. Now, in Feb. 2010, I'm between 8-10 months old. I showed up on their back porch, eating out of the food bowl and talking to myself around my food.

At first, Mommy & Daddy thought that I just was an excitable kitten and was playful. My head bob was almost indistinguishable. They thought my floppiness was cute, and part of me being young.

When I got neutered at the end of December, the vet said I took a long time waking up. When Mommy came to get me, I was still unfocused and very groggy. She kept petting me the whole way back to the house to keep me awake. By the time I got back home, I was playful and alert.

Soon after that, Mommy & Daddy realized that I shook. Mommy had read about CH, so she reread some articles, including the one quoted in this group. She didn't see the head bob, but she mentioned it to Daddy, who had noticed that.

I have all the major symptoms of CH. I haven't been back to the vet yet, but when I go my parents will definitely tell him that they figure that's what's going on.

I can run somewhat, jump up (even onto the kitchen counters), walk (with swaying of my back feet & rear end), but am very low-energy most of the time. Sometimes, I get energy spurts, and then I will run around terrorizing the other cats, jumping into the kitchen sink, climbing, etc.

I get seizures in my back leg sometimes, and drool heavily sometimes. This kind of worries my parents, who are still learning about my condition. I fall off things, so they protect me when I'm laying in their laps and they are going to get a couch so that I don't keep falling off the back of the recliner. When I jump down, I land solidly on my front feet, but my back feet go sideways and I fall after landing. I fish in my food & water bowls, and the contents go flying!

I'm very glad to have a forever home. My parents don't know how I ended up in their neighborhood, because ads and signs didn't turn up my former home. I love my new mommy & daddy! I'm so glad they decided to keep me!
