should I get a second opinion?

Hello-this is Moose's mom and we are new to the group. Moose has recently been "diagnosed" with the dry form of FIP which means he is high on the titer scale (I'm not sure if I'm saying that correctly.) for the corona virus. His appetite has slowly decreased over the last few months (I thought he was being picky because I had changed up the food due to what we thought were food allergies). The vet says both his kidneys and liver are enlarged, and he is clearly anemic (yellow nose). He also has "cold like symptoms." This normally sweet and happy cat now just sits and stares at nothing. He barely sleeps, though.
We had him on antibiotics (Clavamox) but he kept throwing it up so we stopped. Now we are giving him steroids and SQ fluids daily. Some days are better than others, but we are afraid it is getting close to the end. And we are heartbroken.
I apologize to unload like this especially since I found this site while researching FIP, but I could use some advice. Is there anything else out there that this could be? Should I get a second opinion? We would hate to put him down if it is possibly something treatable. He is an awesome cat! Thank you.

Sadly, Moose lost his battle with FIP today. He went downhill so quickly (he also had a severe URI on top of everything.) We are heartbroken. I hope they find a cure for this disease someday. Thank you for listening to Moose's story.
