While watching the Angels hand the Yankees yet another game cry

I watched a fine film called Teenagers Battle the Thing

Just awful..Anthroplogy students uncover the Thing that was hibernating or something like that for 1000 years. You see the Thing maybe 4 times in a one hour film. It is mostly Teenagers talking about and walking around trying to find the Thing..spoiler alert..They set it on fire..THE END applause

We didn't watch a movie tonight. It was a Caturday Night at home in front of the tv! big grin Watched re-runs of Criminal Minds. We like the episodes that aren't too gory and creepy. We never watched much tv until mommy got laid-off. Now we watch lots of it and mommy is hooked on re-runs of the Law & Order shows, NCIS and Cold Case.

Hmmm....Teenagers VS the Thing....That's kind of like the Angels VS the Yankees....sort of....if you kind of tilt your head & squint....thinking Maybe the Angels should try fire against the Yankees! Only fire can destroy a monster! Or electricity....or a silver bullet....or a stake in the heart.....grumble grumble grumble....frown

Tonight I watched "Way Stations in Space". A '50's look at the future of space travel! Uncle Bill (rocket scientist) uses models to lead his young relatives through the way we'll conquer space! The X-15! Rotating Wheel Space stations! Landing on the Moon(which looks like a real slag heap in this film!)! Going to Mars from our underground bases on the Moon! I give it 3 Paws up for imagination,if not budgeting!applause

Tonight I watched "Spider Baby" AKA "The Maddest Story Ever Told"! (1964) Lon Chaney Jr & Mantan Moreland's last film! Chaney plays Bruno, caretaker of 3 young people suffering from Marye's Syndrome,a supposed genetic disease that causes them to revert to a primitive stage of cannibalism! Relatives & a lawyer come to take claim of the Marye estate, with bad,bad results!shock Cat Discretion Advisory! They prepare a meal for the visitors, but the meat AIN'T RABBIT! MEOW! Aside from that unpleasantness, the relative that is nice to them lives! There's a lesson for ya! If you run into crazy cannibals,BE NICE! You might live! Bruno finally ends it all with some dynamite & a casual shrug! Recommended! I give it 4 Paws up! Lon Chaney Jr. on Halloween! The only actor who played Frankenstein,Dracula,The Wolf Man & the Mummy! Meowwwwwoooooolllll! eek
