Does anyone else love to read Catholic books, e.g. Lives of the Saints, biographies of Catholics, etc.? What do you like to read? big grin What are you reading now?

We love Pope Benedict and are reading his book Jesus of Nazareth. It's a very good book and we're learning so much. We're also reading another book Benedict wrote before he was Pope. It's called Introduction to Christianity. It's a theological book and very difficult to read but well worth it! We read it in small portions and there was one section where he was talking about God (I AM) and Moses and the burning bush that had such a profound impact on mommy that she had to stop reading and meditate on it.

Mommy also reads and *prays* with prayer books. She has dozens of prayer books and lots of little pamphlet ones with novenas and chaplets and the Divine Mercy devotion.

Well, right now Ma is reading the Gospel of John fur her Bible study! They are only into the second chapter, though.

Right now Ma is reading the book The Shack - it's not necessarily Catholic, but it really hits home the meaning of the Trinity and God's grace and forgiveness. She is recommending this book to anyone and everyone!

My mom read The Shack.
My mom's favorite Catholic books are The Seven Storey Mountain – Thomas Merton, and Ven. Anne Catherine Ennerich Life of the Virgin Mary and Life of Jesus. And all those various biographies of St. Bernadette and other favorites.
She buys novels from Loyola Press also, all with a Catholic theme and all, so far, wonderful.

This isn't a book, but a blog my mom just discovered, called "A Nun's Life." It chronicles a woman's path as a religious sister, and it's really interesting reading. There's even a "Vocation Forum" for those who are seeking the religious life path, or are already on it. I recommend this blog!

Right now she is reading 'About the Holy Spirit' by Francisca Javiera Del Valle. It is 10 days of prayers dedicated to getting to know the Holy Spirit better.
