What medications do you take for your condition and how well have they worked for you?

I was placed on nitroglycerin, Benazapril, Lasix and Diltiazem, then the Nitro and Diltiazem were discontinued after my ultrasound. So far I'm doing well. I only got sick on May 6th so I don't know how I'll do long term. Right now my urine output is decreased, but the vet says this may be a normal part of losing almost 2 lbs of fluid in 2 days. Next week my BUN and creatnine will be checked.

Hi, I take 1/4 of a 5 mg Benazapril every day.
Mom puts it in capsule of Vetriscience Cardio-strength Vitamins. My heart condition has been stable since I was duagnosed at age 1, 3 years ago.
Mom makes sure, I'm not playing too hard, or I will pant.
My heart size is borderline and I have a heart murmur

Hi everyone! My furriend Mittens told me about this group so I thought I'd join in!

I was diagnosed with moderate HCM when I was a year old. I have a fairly loud murmur (grade III ) but we have managed my HCM pretty well over the years. I've been taking Diltiazem since I was 2 (1/4 tab every 12 hours).

Last May I went into CHF because I was prescribed Prednisone as a part of my chemo (mama wasn't aware how bad it can be for heart kitties). I was put on 6.25 mg of Lasix every 12 hours. They didn't want to go any higher because of my CRF.

Also last May I was diagnosed with mitral valve regurgitation. I'm taking 2.5 mg of Enalapril once daily for that and so far I've been doing okay. This summer I will be going to see my cardiologist for an ultrasound to see how everything looks.

My BUN and creatinine are elevated because of the Lasix and Enalapril so my regular vet is going to see if we can cut back to just one dose of Lasix daily.

Glad to be here and hope everyone is doing well! wave

I just was diagnosed with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. My heart murmur is a 1-2. I am on Atenolol 1/4 tab 2 times a day, and it has brought my heart rate down. Mom says I seem to be even more obnoxious, so that is good. I have been reading about the aspirin, but my vet did not mention this. They did an ultrasound, but never did any blood work. I go back in July, what should I be asking them?
