Anybody know anything about stomatitis?

I was diagnosed with stomatitis last year, and have been in to the vet several times since. He first cleaned my teeth and took a biopsy of the "tissue" at the back of my mouth. It came back no cancer, which was great...but diagnosed me with stomatitis. It seems to be something almost impossible to get rid of. I've had antibiotic injections and steroid injections, and they seem to help for a little while. Then it starts up again. Mom doesn't like me having so many steroid shots....does anybody have any ideas or experience dealing with this stuff?
