Chicken or turkey baby food is good as long as it has NO onion powder or "natural flavor" in it. Make sure you get just chicken or turkey, not one of the meat/vegetable mixtures. It's very smooth and tasty. The only thing I've ever heard against it is that it is a bit salty, so it shouldn't be a regular part of your diet. (It also doesn't have proper cat nutrients in it.) But as a treat to tempt your appetite it should be acceptable. Gerber is the brand I've most often seen recommended by other cats. Scooter used to enjoy her baby food a great deal! smilecloud 9

Thanks Taffy. Mom re-read and missed that part earlier.applause

She also saw the comment on the catnip and is going to try that too, to see if that will help.

This thread is great and has given mom a lot of ideas. Thank you all, especially Molly, who bumped this up for us. Mom really needed some help. She has been SO worried about me.hug

Mom tried the catnip with the rice/meat mixture last night and I LOVED it. I urped just a little but not all I had eaten. She also thinks I ate some of my regular food, because it looks like there is more gone than there had been and I didn't urp that...First time in 5 daysdancing OOOH Not too much movements...sorry.

She put the meat/rice mixture down this morning with some catnip and I ate all of it. She isn't putting much on the plate though.thinking But boy am I happy after I get it.

She is going to try a little of the baby food too, just to try and help me get some of my weight back. I needed to gain some before this happened, so now I know I really need some weight to come back on, but slowly.

This is a great thread with some major information. Thanks to all of you who have taken the time to post and comment in here and add your wisdom!big hughug

Thanks Taffy and Teya. Dad got the chicken with gravy baby food yesterday and mixed that with the rice/chicken mixture and I LOVED it too. I can't believe I had to get sick to get this good food.

Mom is happy too because I am eating this and some of my regular food and haven't gotten sick for a couple days. I'm still not eating a lot, but I am eating and not getting sick, and starting to get back to my normal self. I even jumped up in their bed in the middle of the night the last two nights to show that I was better.

Thanks Mollyhug And thanks for bumping this thread for me. Mom says it helped her SO much and I love all the good food I am getting.

Mom laughed at me today because I bunny hopped down the stairs and ran to the kitchen to get my good breakfast. Yesterday mom came home early and I was waiting to get fed and they made me wait til regular time.shrug But I am eating and bouncing around quite a bit again and not urping. *mom knocks on wood*
