I think the best breed is the one the chooses you by melting your heart and becoming a part of your very soul.
Mom says for her that would be Me, Macenzy, The Labrador Retriever.

All dogs are wonderful, but I have to go with Siberian Husky and this is a totally unprejudiced view. Huskies are loving, and happen to be one of the few breeds with blue eyes, which happens to be an evolutionary advantage (yes, we huskies are very scientific). When I get into trouble, if I look at the humans with my blue eyes, I can usually can get by with anything. However, despite my ability to get by with things, Mommy will tell you that I happen to be a very good dog. snoopy

I have to bark my agreement with Demon Flash Bandit that Siberian Husky is the best breed. I can prove this statement by the fact that many humans, after getting one husky, get another. Some of them have entire packs of huskies and we take them for rides. How many other breeds can take the humans for rides? There are a few that can, but most don't enjoy doing it like a husky or a malumute would. We really love to pull the humans around.

My favorite is Australian Cattle Dog, Blue heeler. But, I am growing into a Beagle mix from the shelter recently, that came to live with me, lol.
