Bad news from vet

We were hoping to see some improvements after the diagnosis of CRF two weeks ago...But instead I have only a slight drop in BUN (now 86) and creatinine (now 8.2). Meanwhile red blood cell count has dropped and I have become anemic.

I'm not feeling too well...being syringe fed mashed potato and organic cat food and taking my sub-q fluids every day. But mostly I just want to be left alone, even though I know my sister Pogo misses me and wants to play.

I had acute renal failure once before when I was six and I made a complete recovery, even though no one thought it was going to happen. But the vet doesn't seem to think I'm going to pull through this...

Dharma, I'm so sorry I just saw your post. Are you any better now? It really does take a while for those fluids to kick in, so please don't get too discouraged. Just keep at it, though I know it's hard work. It took me a couple months, I guess, before I started seeing some real benefits from the fluids, so hang in there! You can pull through it again, as you've already proved what a strong kitty you are! Vets don't know everything....
