Everyone, I am here to ask everyone to be purring for me. I have had diarrhea for about a week now and today at the vet they found blood in my urine, my female area, and other places that I should not be bleeding. My mom is really scared. I will undergo a battery of tests for the rest of the day but mom will let you know when she knows more. Just please keep me in your thoughts and hope that whatever is wrong is not life-threatening.

Duchess,

We are purring and purring. That is very scary. cry

We know you and your mom must be terrified. We hope it is not anything too bad. I had IBD that caused me to have loose potties and then later I had liver cancer, but in all of that, I did not have blood like that.

Is there a vet hospital near you? Locally, they could not determine exactly what was going on and they could not do the complicated surgery. Mom took me to UT Knoxville and it was a big difference with the more advance diagnostic tools and resources.

We hope to hear good news.

I have good news and bad news. The good news is that I will be okay, the bad news is I still feel terrible and I had to stay at the
V-E-T all day long. They discovered that I have a terrible urinary tract infection and x-rays showed that my colon is enormous. Their guess is that I have a terribly sensitive stomach that got upset by a change in my diet. Constantly having diarrhea weakened my system, making me vulnerable to infections. The V-E-T just freaked out a bit when they saw all of that blood in my urinary sample, which in turn made them really scare mom. She was terrified that I would have cancer or that my kidneys were failing. But everything else on me is functioning normally, my kidneys and liver are fine. Thank you so much for my flowers Liza, they really lifted mine and mom's spirits. Mom started her new job this week, so that's been tough. Unfortunately I cost mom her whole week's pay. But the good thing is that I will be fine and that I thankfully won't have to spend the rest of my life on medications. hamster dance way to go dancing

You poor sweet thing! We here are all so very sorry for you and your mommy! At least what's wrong with you can be corrected with meds and a less-irritating food. We will purrrrr and purrrray for you very hard, so you will get better quickly, and without further expense! Purrrrrrrs, R.R.

I'm doing pretty good now. Mom is still shooting yucky stuff in my mouth a couple of times a day but that little bottle is almost empty. My digestive system is still messed up but that is because I'm on the special urinary food to fix that problem. When that bag is empty and we're sure the infection is gone then I will have to go back on the bland food. I hate that stuff...hopefully I'll get used to that some day. Thanks for thinking about me everyone.cheer

We are glad you are improving. Snuggle has food for CRF. She ate it good for 3 years and then she just got sick of it. We tried other versions, but she would not eat any of it. Mom had to give her regular food so she would not starve. We hope you do not give your mom such a hard time.

Is poached boneless, skinless chicken breast out of the question for you for an occasional "bland" treat or snack or small meal??? I can't imagine that a succulent, juicy chicken breast would be irritating to your digestive tract - AND - it sure beats the heck out of bland prescription cat food - MOL!!!

So glad you are feeling better - and tell your meowmy to check out that chicken breast thing, I bet you'll just LOVE it! Purrrrs, R.R.

Thanks Robert! Mommy actually tried that, and I am a huge pain in the butt. They don't come much pickier than me. I actually seem to eat the prescription food better than I did the chicken and rice though mom might give it a try again. Mom and dad ended up eating the chicken and rice in some stir fry not long after I turned my nose up at it. I constantly whine now and act like I am starving to death. Honestly it is driving mom and dad crazy. Thanks for the advice! shrug
