 | | | | This is Stinky's momma here. He had a tough day yesterday and just kept getting worse, he couldn't bouce back from this hurdle he was going through.
Yesterday afternoon, I noticed he couldn't use his back legs. He would just kinda scoot around to where he needed to go. His personality and attitude was the same. Not a cry or whimper out of him but he never shown pain unless it was serious. We took him to the vet and they said he had one or more blood clots in his legs. We started him on blood thinners and dr. said to give him three weeks of antibiotics and a baby aspirin every three days.
We got him home and everything seemed normal (except for the lack of usage in his back legs but he was getting around better than earlier) Then later on in the evening, he was crying and whimpering. He was gasping for air and couldn't get comfortable. We took him back to the dr. and he shown he was in a considerable amount of pain. He cried and yelped everytime the vet touched him. The dr. thought he had some nerve damage or something because although he didnt have much feeling in his hind legs, he sure felt tons of pain in his spine all the way down his back.
We didn't want him to be in pain and the dr. said most pets don't come out of this so we decided to let him go. We stayed through the whole process. He licked my hand but wouldn't look at me much. I petted him and told him we all loved him and that he was done fighting. I feel like I lost my own child..but of course, thats what he was to me...my baby. I feel he's walking around the house with me and will always be by my side. | | | | |
