 |  |  |  | I have tabby stripes in my orange areas too, but I think that's common among american calicos. My sister is a blue torbie; she has obvious stripes in her blue and cream areas.
Okay, I checked on wikipedia, and it says that a torbie has stripes in both the phaeomelanin based colors (red) and eumelanin based colors (black, chocolate and cinnamon). So if the stripes are only in the orange/red tones, then the cat is not a torbie.
