 | | | | Fancy Feast is the food of choice for many sugarcats. Keep away from the gravy varieties, and keep away from the fish. Another good variety is actually the Petsmart brand "Authority". It's less expensive than Fancy Feast, and comes in bigger cans as well. (Mom always had to feed two of us, so the bigger cans served better.)
Some vets like to label these brands as 'icky' because you don't need a prescription for them (and don't have to pay $1 plus a can). My mom actually asked her vet about it before switching -- and mom's vet said that while Fancy Feast might be, and I quote, "Crack for Cats", if it worked for me, and my blood sugar levels stayed consistent where they belonged, then why shouldn't I have it?
Of course, the best thing is if mommy can cook it for you, and there are a lot of cats out there on a home-made diet. But lets face it, most of our parents are way too busy, and they'd rather spend the time cuddling us than cooking. | | | | |
