SENIOR MOMENTS

	alright, well, i was trying to think of a new thread to get going here and this idea came to mind. i always hear my humans talking about this thing called "senior moments." of course, i hear the word "senior" and tend to pay a little extra attention because i know that i'm a senior and all (or so they say!!) well, i noticed that when our humans mess up, they blame it on this thing called a senior moment (even though i really don't think they are considered seniors in human years). so, i decided that it may be fun to share what our humans may see as senior moments with each other. ok, so here goes one of mine. this one time, my kid came out into the kitchen to get something to drink. she saw me sitting on the counter, moving my head back and forth, up and down, like a crazy cat. of course, with my age and all, she thought that i had lost my mind. i'll have to honestly say that it probably did look a little silly. what she didn't know, though, was that i was watching a tiny fly that was flying around in front of me. i showed her!!

	Oh, that's a funny one, Queen Tamara! Well, I don't have anything to really say here because I'm still sharp as a whistle. I do have this habit of just sitting and staring at nothing for a long time with a dreamy look on my muzzle (well . . . sometimes a very long time). That often worries meowmy. And often when my meowmy or a human is talking to me, I'm looking around at everything but them. Meowmy thinks I might have ADD . . . might they be "senior moments"? Or maybe I just don't want to hear what they're saying to me.

	that's cute, KC. i know what you mean about not wanting to listen to our pawrents. especially if you don't want to hear what they have to say. i like driving them nuts by waiting for them to open the window to let me in, then just staring at them like "what in the world are you waiting for." like i said before, they blame it on my age, but little do they know i'm just messing with them!!

	That's a good one too, Tamara. That must drive them nuts! We don't always want to hear or understand our humans and they certainly don't understand us very well. When I see a closed door I'll meow or paw at it so someone will open it. I can't understand why humans want to close doors. That doesn't mean I want to go in the room -- I just want that door open. My meowmy seems to be puzzled when I do that. Do you and Fritz do that too?

	ok, well, i guess i'll embarass myself just a little bit. even though my mind is very sharp, as KC said, my judgement of distance has, for some reason, gotten worse. i'll try to jump on the counter from the table, which i know i'm not supposed to do, but i do it anyway, and fall to the floor. but, in all honesty, i don't think it's me, i think it's my humans. they must be moving things to confuse me.

	Oh, Fritz, that's not very nice of your humans to do that. Things should always stay exactly the way they are. Your pawrents should be thinking about you and how it affects you when they move things. We kitties have our dignity to maintain. I'm still very agile & like to jump up on things but everything stays where it is, so there are no surprises in my home. Of course, Mittens is not very good at jumping up on things, so she doesn't try to do the things that I like to do. Mittens is definitely having more senior moments than I am.
