I would like to start doing a newsletter, say once a month? But I would like members to help out with this. We could have a member of the month, a shelter of the month, a recipe of the month... OUr sponsor pup, etc...
Let me know what you think, if you think it would be a good idea, etc... I would like more than one person helpig out with this, if possible.
Good idea...also maybe put in there all the fund raising ideas that you have going. That way if I post it in another group they will know what they can help with. Alot of them would probably help...but can't make blankets.
If you want write something up for me to copy and post on Westies Unite. Three of my friends joined up here to help with blankets. But like me... are getting confused on all what you want done for blankets and fund raising. We need somewhere maybe in these threads about the dimensions of the blankets and materials to use. Kind of like a guideline to follow. One thread with just the guidelines for the blankets, suggested size, suggested materials, what to do with them when they have a certain number done. It would be alot easier to understand.
all of it sounds good...how about a first aid type corner or tip of the month or a place to take ur pup, have it been different every month. How about a book blurb and some reviews? Quotes, or a poem....
I really like the idea of Shelter of the Month and Sponser Dog/Kitty of the Month! I'd love to sign up for the newsletter. I can definately help out with it! Mom's pretty good with her typing!
There actually is a thread in the group forums about blankets. But like I've said, there is no set dimensions. They can be big and they can be small. It's all in what you want to make them, because the kitties and pups all come in different shapes/sizes. But I'll work on something.
I think we'll come up with something for our newsletter that people can sign up for to do.
1. Recipe of the month
2. Tip of the month
3. Shelter of the month
4. Sponsor pup/kitty of the month
5. Member of the month
6. Quote of the month
7. Book review of the month
Guest columnists!
Let me know what you would like to help with for June. We'll shoot to get it out at the end of June/beginning of July. We'll take nominations for shelter, members of the month. Anyone for book reiew, and quote of the month? Guest columnist?
What we'll do is wait a couple of days (Sunday) and see if anyone else wants to help and we'll go from there. What will happen is I'll put the newsletter together and you'll send me your assigned "tasks".
I would like to do the newsletter by email, so we'll need to start getting everyone's email addresses. I will set up a special email address just for that purpose and only I'll have access to it. I'll eventually get to the point where you can do it aautomatically, but until then, we'll do it like that.
I can do book review--I read like there's no tomorrow AND alot of animal -related books included. My only problem is I'm in the middle of an interstate move and probably couldn't start submitting until the beginning of July. I have to do the move and then have interviews the last two weeks of June. If its something that can wait until July or I can wait until your "2nd edition" I dont' mind doing the book reviews at all.
I agree with the Douglas Sisters. I could get nominations from different pups and then pick the most deserving pup/kitty. I'm always searching Petfinder and I'm a member of G.R.E.A.T. (greyhoud rescue and adoption of Tampa)
