I don't have a huge trouble with this yet, but when Mom is gone I miss her and I can't seem to hold my bladder as long as when she's home. We've tried several solutions. Almost all of my life I've stayed in a crate when Momma wasn't home, just for precaution. Well when the pee trouble started, that didn't work any more because I would go on myself...YUCK! So Mom decided to leave me in the living room with a puppy pee pad and that worked for a while. But then I decided that it wasn't exciting to use the same place every time. This wasn't good for Mom's carpet. We have also used the belly bands when I was in the crate and they worked pretty well, but Mom hated to keep washing them and I got a little bit of a rash on my belly. So we are back to square one! Has anyone got any suggestions. Mom found a crate pad advertised for online that is supposed to be washable, super-absorbant, and stays dry on top. Anyone heard of these? Help us out here! I'm sure that I'm not the only one over 10 with these issues. Other than this trouble, I'm in great health and Mom doesn't want to give me a Rx all of the time.

Maybe not leave out a lot of water for you might help. My mama had a dog like that and she put plastic roll down over carpet with lots of newspapers. There really isn't much you can do about it.Just part of being a senior citizen.

Have you tried Doggie Diapers. They can be bought at pet stores, Petsmart for sure. My friends are naughty on purpose when their mommy leaves so she puts it on them and it works pretty well.

I had the same problem about 6 months ago. I was very off-balance and sometimes I would accidentally pee on mommy while I slept on her and wake up all surprised and shocked red face Mommy was really worried that I might have diabetes or kidney failure. Mommy took me to the vet and I was less than cooperative but we did find out that not only was I going deaf in one ear (hence the balance issue) I also was not getting enough nutrition in my diet for being a senior. I am now on a senior dry food (and regular wet) diet and I haven't had this problem since big grin
