Well, Xena Warrior Princess started out telling us her story. I'll tell you a little about myself too!

I was born in a cage and lived there with my 9 brothers and sisters, my mother and my aunt until I was five months old. The lady who was "breeding" us was not doing it in a professional manner and had around 20-30 cats running around at all times. No one humanized them so even though they were all indoor cats they were practically feral. I was rescued and given a new chance at life. I'm still shy and skittish because I was locked up for so long but I am learning about the wonders of being loved by humans and my new older brothers, Sparky and Lucky!

Well, Catster says this is an "inactive" page. Us "Balinesies" ARE a little more laid back . . . Is anyone there? I'll gladly tell my story! It's not quite as desperately exciting as Frodo's . . .

Please, isn't anykitty there???

WOW, Frodo ~ You had a rough start in life! You look like such a sweet kitty; I'll bet you're soaking up all that love like crazy!!

wink

My story is a lot more mundane. Mama's kind of embarrassed to admit it, but she got us (me and MacIntosh) from a breeder . . . When our elder brother, Popka, went to the Rainbow Bridge (before we were born), mama thought she could never bear to have another kitty again. But after a year, she started thinking about it. Popka was a Siamese Balinese mix (maybe he could join this group?), though mama didn't really totally understand what that meant until after I grew up. He had the long Balinese fur, but didn't have the tail . . . So anyway, mama wanted a kitty who looked just like him. (Sorry, mama.) (Pixelicious, you are the loviest kitty ~ I absolutely adore YOU! Mama)

She started looking online at info. So then she realized she also wanted a kitty with a "traditional" Siamese head. (Well, she'd never heard of Catster, nor met any of these wonderful Siamese kitties that WE know now!) She wound up finding our fur mama and HER mama in Beaverton, Oregon. (Leastways, we THINK it was Beaverton!) Then our fur mama, Isabelle, had us ~ and the rest is history!!

I've been shy and rather quiet from day one. MacIntosh, who doesn't show any expression of the Balinese gene (but IS my brother!) is definitely the Alpha Kitty.

But I've learned to show him a thing or two!! So we have good times. Mama loves us both dearly; she says we are the "light of her life."

Hey Pixel... I know I'm justa kitten but I fink ya need ta tell Mac sumfing...

Balinese ARE siamese just with long hair. So a Balinese can have a siamese parent and still be a full blooded Balinese. (I know this cause my fur dad is a lilac point Siamese and my fur mom is a chocolate point Balinese) When two siamese have a long haired baby it is still a Balinese. I don;t know who yer pawpaw was, but yer mama looks siamese. Therefore either you AND Mac have a Bali daddy making Mac a BALINESE VARIENT (Shorthaired Bali) or both your parents throw the long hair gene making YOU an extra special little gift of Bali within a siamese litter.

Sorry, didn't mean ta be a know-it-all. My new meowmy has been studying the Bali breed for over 10 years. laugh out loud

Hi, Jacob here!!! kitty A breeder was closing her cattery, and took some of her kittens to the local animal shelter. (A non-kill one). My Mama was at the vet's, and heard about me. She rushed right over to see me, fell in love with me on the spot, and susequently adopted me. I was 6 months old then. That's about 2 1/2 years ago, and my sister cat Cocoa still thinks she's top cat (she's older; it's a seniority thing). - Jacob (as dictated)!!!

My momma always wanted a Balinese. At least she has for the last 10 or so years. And last year my pawpaw told momma to start looking around and getting an idea of what she really wanted. And then my pawpaw contacted one of the breeders. And asked my momma if she wanted me. And she said yes. And here I am.

Of course I had ta fly on a big stupid plane. And I got sick. And now I am coughing and sneezing and I can't breathe. So momma has to give me this nasty medicine 2 times a day for 10 days. And I hate it. And I go phsssssttttthhhhh. But momma says I have to take every drop sos I get better cause she's so worried. And I still say PHSSSSSSSTTTTTTTHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!cry

I really wanted to get 2 more kitties who needed a home and I really wanted a Siamese or or a Siamese mix. So I started looking on craigslist for kittens. After about a month of searching, I found these stunning long haired chocolate siamese mix kittens so I immediately called the number on the ad. The owners and I agreed to meet at their house and I picked up Gaara and his brother Zuko the next morning. Their mom is a short haired brown tabby and their dad is a traditional Balinese and belongs to the neighbor across the street. So Gaara is only half Balinese.

Seth: Oh young chums. Tally ho and good tidings. I was born aboard a ship, sailing from the Dogma Islands. My mother, Lady Catherine Smythe, was an ambassador for the UNC (United Nations of Cats) and was on a goodwill mission to our misguided friends...

Bex (owner): Uh, Seth...you were born under my bed, sweetie. And your mother isn't named Lady Catherine. Her name is Possum.

Seth: Woman, allow me to tell my own tale! I was born into a family of three. My brothers, Niles and Frasier, went to join the Queen's Navy at a young age -

Bex: They were rehomed, sweetie.

Seth: Yes, yes. They are off in service of their country! They bring a tear to my eye, bully! I was close to going overseas myself, but my beautiful Mumsy couldn't bear to part with me so I stayed to keep her company. Now, I am married to a wonderful young feline named Apples -

Bex: That's your sister, Seth. Not your wife.

Seth: Oh, Mumsy, why don't you run along and play somewhere? My wife and I live in Smythe Manor and keep all the undesirables away.

Bex: Yes, that's one way to put it. smile
