I don't think I want to be President anymore. I mean, it sucks really. Sure the belly rubbin siesta thing is cool, and bombin' the crap out of Iran. But I mean really it's not all it's cracked up to be. I'm an idea dog. I have vision. I like to set things in motion. But this whole executive thing is a drag.

Okay so I've helped inspire advocacy all over Dogster. That's cool, but what does it all mean? Maybe I'm just depressed. Maybe I need an intern.

We respect you for trying, Ms. President. I'm sure it's a big bummer having to put up with all the red tape that even the president can't just do away with! Damn checks and balances.....

(jumping down off the couch)

Isabel, I think you need to participate in my belly rubbin' research project. Here, hop up on the couch next to my mom, now skootch a little to the left, adjust the belly forward a bit, and now lie still. Mom will rub away some of the stress. I promise. She's good at it. Just let me know your reactions for my research.

To have inspired advocacy on Dogster is no small feat. For every dog who stepped forward and barked, there was another who was silent. I admire and respect you for all of your work and effort. I believe that it is dogs like you, who are unafraid to speak out, (and don't even expect a biscuit) who will eventually change the world. Most dogs are like me, and find it really hard to get off the couch and forgo that belly rub. But, slowly, because of you and other doggies like you, doggies like me are jumping down off the couch and sniffing the wind. I know it's hardly enough, and it's surely not quick enough, but it is working.

Take a break, enjoy the belly rub, and go steal a biscuit or two. But, please, do not ever give up. Just let the others you have inspired carry the weight a bit.
