shock Oh Polly, now we feel TWICE as bad for Shadow! Not only does he have a broken leg....but he has to stay in a cage, too?! We know it's best, but still....for Shadow...he won't understand why! Purring that he settles down. Maybe if his Mom gives him some turkey tomorrow it will make him a bit sleepy...or is that only people that that happens to? shrug

wave Hi, guys! As you know, I'm home, but yes - in a cage!! Like a wild animal in a zoo!! Mom knows I'm not wild, but she says I have to stay in the cage so that I don't do any damage to my leg; I have a big, big incision held shut with bunches and bunches of staples. Mom's afraid I'd get the incision dirty, and the surgeon said he didn't want me running all over the barn. ffft! What does he know? I"m a *barn* cat - I'm supposed to run all over the barn - and anywhere else I want! And I don't know where to go to - you know - so I'm using my bed, although Mom keeps saying something about using "the box." shrug So Mom keeps busy washing my beds. . .

I do want to thank you all for your prayers and purrs; I'm sure they helped. And may you all have a blessed Thanksgiving!

(((Poor Shadow)))
No big tough barn cat should have to be confined! Pfffttt!!
But you know that it is what is best for you right now Shadow. Your Mommy just doesn't want you to hurt yourself any further.
Hopefully you can get used to the cage and feel safe in there. If you rest and relax, you will heal all the much quicker and be out of there before you know it.
Maybe your Mommy could try putting a large blanket over the cage to at least cover up three sides and you might not feel so intimidated by it all. We used that tactic with one of our kitties who was scared to death of the cage and it seemed to calm him down a bit. Then we just left him alone in the peace and quiet and tried to not bother him except to feed and water twice a day.
Soft purrs and prayers for a very speedy recovery.hug

Thanks, Tuffy, for the good words. Mom has the top of the cage and partway down the sides covered. And during the day, she puts classical music on the radio. But I am so bored! I'm used to moving around, keeping an eye on my territory, now all I can do is curl up in my cuddler bed with the heating pad in it. (Mom was afraid I'd be cold after spending 2 days in the warm hospital, and it's pretty chilly here in Pennsylvania right now. Sigh. Mom said she'd call the hospital on Monday & see if I can be freed. I feel good, and I'm eating well, although I'm hating the medicine *and* it gives me the runs. frown But I figured out what "the box" is for!

Thank you so much, Tuffy, for your kind words and for the PoP gift you sent; you're a good friend, like all the kiddens here at M.I.D.E.!
