It's hard being- Rusty....

A couple of weeks ago, Mom was at her Parish School Religion meeting.....and they were talking about how when pets die, parents tell their child that the kitty or dog went to "Kitty Heaven" or "Dog Heaven". However, as Catholics, the humans don't truly believe that animals go to heaven.

Being as my Mom is a sap and loves us so much....she didn't have much to say there.

Mom wants to know how others here feel. Do you follow the teachings where animals don't have souls nor do they go to heaven.....or do you think that animals do?

Mom believes that animals go to heaven....even though she was taught they don't....and Dad doesn't think they do either.

What should I tell my Mom? thinking

My parents are both Catholic, and my dad especially tries to learn as much as he can about our faith. But they believe that since cats have souls, we go to heaven.

My dad once said that the Church has a lot of good, truthful teachings, but that there is room for improvement in some areas. And that area especially concerns the attitude towards animals.

Your mom isn't being a sap, and she shouldn't feel conflicted, either. She's a loving pawrent, and a good Catholic. smile

My mom is Catholic too, and she believes that God will give people what they need to be happy in Heaven; and she will need her 6 kitties and 1 doggy for sure. Mom and Dad both believe strongly that animals have souls and the evidence is that they are able to love, so they are sure they go to Heaven. Heaven with no animals would not be Heaven, they say.

Ma said she has never been told that they don't go to heaven. We think that God takes care of us and that when we need prayers, He answers. And Ma always says there is a special place that God puts people who harm innocent creatures...

So, I figure, we'll go and wait for our families!

Momcat thinks we're all creatures of God...the day our brother, Weezer, went to the Bridge, Father made a pastoral call to our house to offer prayers and support, it made a heartbreaking day more bearable.

Hi Chauncey.
Heaven is a wonderful place. I'm really in good with St. Francis so he lets me help to welcome in the newbies who come through the gate. St. Frank is a great guy. I call him St. Frank! He throws balls to me every afternoon along with a big gang of dogs. He also brings little kitties fun little toys and treats. My cat brother Mickey has gotten a few of those. We also have big barbeques and pawties and get ICE CREAM and CAKE !

I have other duties. I am the guardian angel of Bichon Lover's Clubhouse and am always called upon to go to a sick pup whenever one asks fur me. I also stay with sick relatives of the pups who ask me to go there. I stay by their side until they get better or come up here! Sometimes I have to go back and forth across the country. My wings sure get tired!

I don't want to brag or nuthin' but I know JESUS personally! happy dance
And Our Lady is the most beautiful sweet lady you could ever imagine. So if you guys ever need an angel friend I am here for ya.
