In deep space, several light years away from Federation space, a vortex opens. Through this vortex, several thousand Daleks emerge. They have no need for a ship, for each Dalek is self contained within its robot-like unit. They are small and very manuverable and are able to travel at warp speed. They have one mission- Exterminate!! They have one emotion- hate. They have one target- the Federation!

On Earth there is a lone Dalek located at Starfleet Command. It has been in stasis for many months. It has now awakened and is in contact with the other Daleks. It easily breaks through the containment field surrounding it. Screaming "Exterminate" it blasts and kills anyone and anything in it's way. It blasts a hole in the roof of the building where it was being kept and takes off into space at high warp to join the others. It knows it's way. It will serve as a guide for other Daleks.

Attention all crew, it has been confirmed. A Dalek invasion force is heading towards Federation space. We have been ordered by Starfleet Command to intercept and attempt to stop the Daleks. All crew, please report in. Report to Commander Chap. I have a briefing with Starfleet Command and will be in this meeting for most of today. We leave tomorrow at 08:00 hours.

This development makes my work in the lab all the more important. We were fortunate enough to get some "genetic material" from this thing before it came to life and killed the brave Federation security force that was guarding it.
I will be happy to share what I have been working on with Lt. Commander Charlie; the dalek doesn't have DNA in any form as we know it. But I do have samples of something, and it is contained in the highest-security area of my lab. I have also split the sample and am housing several samples in undisclosed locations.
If at such time the Aristotle can be of service, Captain Salem and our crew will join you. For now we will stay in the lab and try to figure out a weakness in this horrific creature.
