Well, our county fair has ended.
The stands and rides have left.
Mom said it was just splendid,
I was left feeling bereft.

The don't let dogs into the fair
Doesn't that rule just stink?
We'd make far less messes
By not scattering our food and drink.

But trying to win some county fair zealies
Is still going on in our group
There's still one week to post your poem,
Come on, let's hear from the poetry troop!

Adopt-Don't- Shop!		 
 
Purred: Mon Aug 18, '08 4:27pm PST 
Mom walks me to an unfamiliar place,
Where I see a many unfamiliar face.
All I know is that it smells too good,
To sit here by her side like i should.
So I get up and run around,
With mom behind me making lots of sound.
Then I find the snack stand,
and got a hot dog from a nice man.
I thanked him with one big kiss,
Going to the country fair is something I just couldn't miss.

In our mountain town in the fresh, clean air,
You'll find the Jackson County Fair,
There are sheep and cattle and you hear them low,
While the cowboys stage the rodeo!

I smell the livestock and I smell the food
Every thing looks so very good!
I'm ready to enter, I walk on a cloud
Til the man at the gate shouts out,
"No dogs allowed!!"
