Dear Furends,

I did an article on Fireworks for the STAFU Rag and here is a paste of some info about what is in them. Our pawrents should make sure they comb the area for the remains of fireworks before they let us walk about sniffing up the grass in those places....

Fireworks have strange things in them that we should not have in our mouths including:

Flash powder used in old flash photography
Bismuth trioxide
Copper
Barium (yes barium from rat poison!)
Calcium
Sodium
Aluminum
Titanium
Vaseline

The humans seem to like them... I have no idea why!

My human mom hates fireworks. She has super sensitive hearing, in fact I think she is bothered by the noise more than we are! She has been this way ever since she was young. So the 4th of July is not her favorite holiday and we are more than happy to hide indoors with her. laugh out loud
