Oh yeah - us 4 adult cats share 2 regular & 1 large litter boxes, and the 2 adult cats upstairs share one regular box. Who knows what's gonna happen when the kittens start using boxes?!? I think mom should just spread litter all over and have little spaces for the humans to go! MOL!!!
This is my first posting in this group and the brood is happy to have found this place. There are 14 kitties here, although I just lost my 15th. The place we are in right now isn't very big, but it's working out ok. It's a 2 1/2 bedroom house with a screened in back porch. The half-sized bedroom is used to house their litterboxes. I have 12 of those, but I don't use "regular" litterboxes. Most of my furkids are too big for the jumbo sized regular boxes. I have also developed a great way to clean the boxes, which makes it much easier to care for them.
We were wondering what your secret is to cleaning the litter boxes!!! We have 3 Litter Robots, but Mom still wonders what in the heck your Mom's cleaning routine is... heheh!!
Since we posted last in this thread... we have added 2 more kitties, for a total of 11 of us furkids in the family, and Mom bought another Litter Robot. She sure does love those things, lol.
Hi everycat! There are four of us here. We used to live in a 2 bedroom 2 bathroom apartment that was about 1000 square feet. We thought it was so small! Now Mama and Daddy got us a 4 bedroom 2 bathroom house that is 1800 square feet. We love it! Amber especially loves having more space. We have 3 litterboxes that are scooped at least 2-4 times a day. Our boxes are also disposable. Mama has some health conditions that makes it easier to just throw the boxes away than have to clean them So we start out with brand new litterboxes once a week.
Hi, I am glad that I have joined your group we are a 2 household cat family,2 dog household and 1 humom, living in a single wide. We get to go outside all the time, but mom does have 2 litter boxes for us, I use one and Mimi uses the other because we don't like to share each other smells, plus we are both siamese so are very territoral. Mimi is the hunter and I'm the lover and talker.
Well there is 4 of us that lives with two humans-thats our mommie and daddy. We live in a 2000 sq. ft. single dwelling home. We have four litter boxes. And we have our very own room to play in with all of our toys, even though we have the run of the house any time of the day.
Hi all! There are three of us in a one bedroom apartment with a nice three season porch. We have three big litterboxes... two in the kitchen and one in the bedroom (mum says in case we get stuck in there when the door closes).
We also have other roommates-- 6 turtles, two geckos, two frogs, and three fishtanks.
Mommy scoops at least every other day. sometimes every day. depends on how many bombs we drop. And people say, "wow, for all the animals that live here, it really doesn't smell at all!" Then me or Olivia go and drop a bomb. We get a kick out of it!
My Mummy wants to know the litterbox cleaning secret too!
Zephyr I did notice you have some extra kitties in the furmily. I bet those Litter Robots help. Mummy sent Litter Robot an e-mail but they said they are not distributing in Australia...yet. They have had a lot of interest though so if lots of Aussie Catsters e-mail them maybe they will hurry it along.
Maybe we should make a new thread just for litter-cleaning duties. I actually get this question ALL the time and finally just made a video of it. It's on Julie's page, I believe. I can't afford a litter robot right now, but may get one at some point in time. I had one of those litter-maid ones (the big one), but my cats are HUGE and didn't really fit well with it. They also try to dig to china when they go, so the clumps would stick to the bottom. This just made the clumps end up stuck to rake. It also would push half the litter over the edge and end up wasting a bunch of it.
