So I'm partially thieving this idea from Budric Diggory. (Sorry Buddy! BOL) But the topic was raised in another thread and I thought it would be really neat to do in its own thread.

So here we go ... two questions ...

1) What is your patronus? And why?

2) Amortentia is a very stong love potion ... it is characterized, among other things, by its ability to smell differently to each person according to what they like. What would you smell and why?

(You can answer these questions either for yourself (the human) or your dogs/cats.)

The human typist

1) I would like to think that my patronus would be a dog (who saw that one coming, right? BOL) ... something with long hair like a Sheltie or a Collie. Not scary or dangerous, but confident and loyal.

2) I would smell old books (always loved the smell of old books), this specific cherry-almond hand cream that my great aunt used to use (she was very close to me), and Cool Water cologne (my best guy friend back in school used to wear it all the time).

Gio

1) Can a tennis ball be a patronus? BOL If not, then probably a large cat or some sort, like a lion or a tiger. Something majestic like that. Gio often reminds me of a king or lord ... lounging and surveying all that is his!

2) He would probably smell tennis balls, rubber matting (from flyball lanes), and the dingy smell of the inside of his training treat bag. This dog LIVES for learning and working.

Romeo

1) I think his patronus would be something smaller, quicker, and more playful. Maybe like a chipmunk or a small monkey.

2) He would smell stuffing from a squeak toy (always de-stuffing things), cool dirt (loves to dig), and fresh laundry (always curls up in the pile of clean sheets on laundry day).

I love this idea, Gio!

Okay, first Mom (Jamie):

1) My patronus would probably be a wolf. I've always loved them. Their strength, intelligence, and beauty.

2) To me, Amortentia would probably smell like fresh-baked brownies (I have a killer sweet-tooth), Christmas tree (joyous times with family), and a freshly-sharpened colored pencil (crazy artist). That'd be some weird-smelling stuff!

For Risa:

1) Her patronus would probably be something large and powerful because she's a wuss. wink Perhaps a Gryphon. Something that could kick some serious butt if needed.

2) I think Ris' Amortentia would smell like me (she is often found sleeping on stuff that I sit on all the time), outdoors (she loves to be outside), and smelly dog treats (treats=fun work with Mom and FOOD).

Cool ideaway to go

Mom's patronus would probably be a dolphin, as she loves to swim and spends most of her time in the water, also she likes to think she is intelligent, BOL!

Her smell for Amortentia would probably be cloves, she loves the smell of cloves, her grandad used to smoke them and the smell reminds her of good times at home as a kid.

My Patronus would most likely be a fish or something else that has to do with water. Maybe a sea snake? I am a Slytherin afterall!wink

hmmm... my Amortentia smell would probably be tennis balls, because that is my one true love.

My Patronus would... well I hope it would be a large majestic dragon. Something that has power and is fierce. We doxies think too much of ourselves laugh out loud

My Amortentia smell would have to be bison patties. I can't help butLOVE the smell of a freshly dropped one to roll in. Mmmm Mmmm Good!

Ooh, this is fun to think about.

Mom (Rachael)

I always my patronus would probably be a wolf. I'm quite independent and keep to myself for the most part, but when I become attached to someone, I'm fiercely loyal. But, I took a quiz that told me mine would be a bear which shows an introspective person who dreams big and is strong. After seeing that, I think I agree that I would have a bear.

Amortentia would smell like patchouli (my favourite scent in the whole world), Gunner (yes, the smell of my dog comforts me), and the woods.

Gunner

Gunner's patronus would be squirrel. He's hyper, playful and just a tad bit nuts.

His amortentia would smell like freshly cut grass (he plays ball every time my dad cuts grass), his favourite tennis ball(he'd play fetch until he died from exhaustion if I let him), and me (he always sleeps with something of mine, whether it be my bed, a shoe or my back pack).

I'm not sure about the other boys. I have to think about them for a bit.

Mom (Kaitlin):

My patronus...that is tough. Probably a fish or water animal of some sort. If I could live in the water I would.

My amortentia would smell like Christmas trees, vanilla, and almond. Hands down....those are my favorite smells in the world.

Mia:

I imagine Mia's patronus either being a butterfly (she is SUCH a social butterfly...with people anyway. With dogs she has to warm up to them) or some animal with a short temper. She has a very short temper when it comes to other animals, particularly the cat bol.

Her amortentia would smell like dirt, freshly laundered clothes (funny how those are the opposite yet she loves them both), and me or her Dad. She always cuddles up in our bedding or clothes.

Oooooh! Fun Topic, Gio!!

Sara's (Mom's) Answers

1. My patronus would be...a wiener dog smile. Rondo actually was my patronus a year ago when I got mugged, and his tenacity and loyalty shocked me to the core. I really couldn't believe what my normally sweet, friendly-to-all dog did when he sensed my fear and saw that I was being threatened....and that he managed to chase off the man with the knife. My neighbor also has an excellent story about their dachsie from LONG ago fighting off a large copperhead that was going after their son. I guess the breed was meant to fight badgers to the death, so they pack a lot of pop into their small, funny-looking package.

2. I think my Amortentia would be tomato plants in the garden, the smell of new piano music, and the Avon perfume (I don't know if they still make it) "Pearls and Lace." It was what my grandmother wore. She passed away when I was 5, but that scent REALLY brings back all the happy memories of peach-picking and just hanging out.

Rondo's Answers

1. Rondo's patronus would have to be something larger-than-life, like an African Elephant or a Mammoth. He really is convinced that he is huge and all-powerful, and any kind of smaller animal would be a huge blow to his deeply-ingrained sense of giant-ness. He also has a large nose that he uses like a thumb, very elephant-like.

2. His Amortentia would definitely be me (he loves me more than anything and is always sleeping with his nose in my feet or my armpits...gross, but it comforts him), goose poop, and this big sign by the lake that I jokingly call his "Doggie Outlook" because he acts like he's getting all these crucial messages.

Gretta's Answers

1. Gretta's Patronus would be something spastic and all-over-the-place...I see it as a bat. I think she would have a hard time producing one, because her ability to focus on things is still pretty....erm....poor.

2. Her Amortentia would definitely smell like raw meat (she lives for mealtimes), the innards of stuffies, and a pile of horse manure. She sticks her nose in the most disgusting stuff BOL!

Oh, this is fun!

Morgan(Mom)

My patronus is a Gryphon, wings down! I'm a pagan, and the Gryphon is my totem (my friends, in fact, call me Gryffyn. You're all my friends, so feel free!)

My amortentia smells would be vanilla, pine, and the woodsnoke smell of a campfire.

Sirius

I really think his patronus would be a spirit version of himself, a big, fierce dog, cause he's already my protector, barking and letting anyone he hears outside know that he won't let them near his Mom!

His smells would be cooking meat (yeah, he eats raw, but when someone's cooking, his nose is right up in the air, scenting it!), clean clothes, and me.

Tessa

Her patronus is a wolf. She has a bit of timberwolf in her, anyway, according to the people who gave her to me, and her furmom looked it!

Her smells are me, freshly mowed grass, and meat. She loves her dinner!
